I thought finishing exams would feel sooooo good and it does but like....I'm just not used to having so much free time. When I have a spare half hour I just feel like going and doing a bit of study. I've actually forgotten what it's like to have free time :S Even though I've been out constantly, it feels like I'm doing nothing. I dunno, I just have an odd feeling.
-
Yes. It feels weird and disorienting. I expect to develop a 'holiday routine' in the next couple of days. Otherwise the weather has been crap, and I've lost all motivation to procrastinate.
-
Study a field you're interested in but never had time to in VCE? Haha. If you're that kind of person I guess.
-
meh, it's pretty much normal to experience some black hole inside of you after exams are done, I've expecting to hit after uni maths lol.
-
I don't actually want to study. I feel like studyig, but I really just want to chillax. I'm gonna study stuff later in the holidays methinks. It's just weird that I've completely forgotten what people with free time do.

Sit around and post on a VCE help site.

This.
I always cannot wait for uni holidays because they're so long and I can read so much mathematics each day :D It's a good break from all the boring uni maths I gotta do!

Wait, so you reckon VCE and Uni maths are a drag. So what maths do you actually do? (*curiosity rising)

Nah just some uni maths, they're compulsory subjects which I must do, they're all applied mathematics which I find boring.
All the good pure maths subjects are like 3rd - 4th year subjects, eg number theory, combinatorics, discrete mathematics etc
So yeah I'm just reading ahead etc

Just looked up Number theory on wiki. It sounds interesting (like Unimelb Maths comp material).
Also liked this quote:
"God invented the integers; all else is the work of man." — Kronecker

If you liked that, go read old back editions of Paradox

Yea number theory is one of the oldest branches of mathematics :)
Set theory is also really cool :D
Again all of this stuff is not taught in 1st or 2nd year uni, well they have some "pure" maths subjects but they are too easy and elementary, so yeah you see why I'm often bored now :P

Good call. lol
Oh and i dont get how you can 'feel' like studying. Even throughout VCE i never ever once felt like studying. Only studied when i knew i couldnt 'wing' something. Probably regret that though. :uglystupid2:
I think its more you feel like you should be studying.

my exams haven't even finished yet and i already feel lost knowing that there is only one left
sigh, at least there's harry potter to look forward to :)

Mate, i just can't wait to be in your position..
-
lol, I feel exactly the same, I've planned some house cleaning and other stuff that I wouldn't normall try to touch simply for something to do.
Starting to find it hard to stare at a monitor, I had so many hope for holidays and a stack of games to get through too.
-
I feel same way too... so depressing going home knowing I can do nothing at all.
My imagined feeling was like walking out of a prison.
-
lol yes i have the same desire to study. Or guilt when im not studying rather than desire to study.
I also think ill be going back after the exams to resume school. Like regular classes and stuff. Doesnt feel like holidays. Feels like the weekend.

i feel sort of weird and confused, dunno if its the lack of exams though, could be due the fact i think ive had about 3 hours sleep since thursday :S
Tonight i actually plan to get a good nights sleep, i hope, then its time to catch up on some reading; havent read a book for pleasure since start of term 3

had a flick through and I love it. I must say I really like some of the quotes from Feynman, enough that I am not reading the book written about his exploits. It quite good actually and the guy is a genius who loves messing with people. The book is called 'Surely You're joking Mr. Feynman' I encourage everyone to have a read.
