Title: Forum vs VCE Notes
Post by: pi on November 13, 2010, 03:09:18 pm
Is it just me or is the forum much more popular than the actual VCE Notes page as a source of notes and/or questions regarding VCE? I also think the forum is more helpful and more easy to navigate.

Does anyone else think this as well?

same. I'm finding the forum as it is now very good, easy to work around. Simple. =)

I've been to the Notes section a few times, some notes produced by users are also very good.

me too, most people attach notes to relevant posts if they want to give them to the VN community anyway.

A revamp is definitely in order

i agree here as well, those notes are usually pretty scrappy (and old)

I wouldn't know because I graduated at around the same time the notes became available. However, I guess that the notes get you to visit the site and then the forum gets you to stay?

There isn't much activity at the notes section (Questions and Answers Relating to Plato from sarahxx was most recent for about 6 months:P)

after the 6 months of Plato from sarahxx.

btw, why did none of the other exams+solutions get uploaded? just shows that the forum is simply much more popular

I think the forum is very easy to navigate, no real need to redesign the forum or anything. And I hardly go to the notes section so I don't know what's all that about but I'd say the forum is generally very helpful.

the notes section is kind of obsolete once you get onto the forum, but the whole reason i joined VN was originally because of the free notes. and then i discovered the forum.

Er, yeah, about the notes... I kind of got a lot behind during semester 2 on downloading them all and checking for quality + copyright etc. so after Tuesday (my last exam) expect a whole bunch of new ones to be added. Sorry for the delay -_-

LOL

When you first log in, it has the Notes section on the top of the page and also it has the "Latest Notes" bit at the top of the page, when you are in the forum. =P

Understandable delay, but which Tuesday was this? Just waiting for anything new before I begin my holiday prep for next year (sorry for being a bit impatient enwiabe)

There should be a massive link to the forum at the top of the front page...it'll draw in heaps of new users.
My first experience on VN was googling "vce help" or something along those lines, and I browsed through the notes section, etc. and was unimpressed. Didn't sign up for VN until later, when I found my way back here via merspi.com, then went through to the forum looking for Methods practice exams.

I tend to only go on the forum section, I find that more helpful especially if you have a specific question in mind that the notes might not cover.

I can't really judge for the notes section, but it seems although the forum has more notes/exams to download.
