Title: Indonesian Tutoring (Yr 11 AND 12)
Post by: swoop on November 14, 2010, 03:41:52 pm
CHEAP INDONESIAN TUTORING!!
I'm Swaroop and I  just finished my VCE this year completing Maths Methods, Specialist Maths, Chemistry, English and ofcourse: Bahasa Indonesia. However, I am probably the most useful with Indonesian as it has been my strongest subject throughout VCE. I received A+, A and A+ on my outcomes. The last A+ was my exam mark. I achieved a scaled score of 45 which may not be as impressive to most of you. However, I believe my passion and confident knowledge of the language is more important than a study score.
I am more than happy to help any aspiring students continuing bahasa Indonesia in Yr 11 or 12. Since I just finished this year, I will know the ways in which the course will be constructed and give adequate preparation for your oral and written exams. I can help assist with the following:
-Grammar (very strong)
-Writing (very very strong)
-Speaking (detailed study in particular)
-Listening
-VCAA tricks on both oral and written exams (they will trick you!)

I believe I can alleviate some of the stress that will build throughout the year and particularly for Yr 12s during the oral exam preparation. If you are interested, feel free to either email me or PM me. We can start classes during the summer break to get you ahead in the course in terms of refining grammar and your overall language skills. Classes will be conducted at my house in Keysborough . Email me to find out more info on prices etc.

I am also handy for I.T Applications and Maths Methods if anyone needs assistance for those. I will love to hear from you :)

EDIT: the email address has been changed. It is now: [email protected]

Completed VCE with swoop by my side. Always talking indo when it's clear no one actually knows what he's on about. An indo tutor is "water in the desert", indeed a rarity. For the indonesian student, struggling or otherwise, i recommend him. Endorsed.

Btw swoop, you might want to change your school email because they might deactivate it. after all, we are no longer affiliated with the school.

Thank you for your kind words in my thread man- everyone who is looking for an Indo Tutor should not choose anyone but Swaroop. From his messages on VCENotes you can see that he is a cool guy but I guarantee you he is 10000x more awesome, polite and friendly in real life.

I did a 3/4 LOTE in year 11 (not indo) and it's really easy to lose focus on your objective- the end of year exams. Hence, hiring Swaroop who has just completed his Indo exam this year will give you the opportunity to learn from someone who has fresh experience in the oral and written. I wish I got a tutor for my 3/4 LOTE study and I hope Indo students wanting to achieve their goals won't make the same mistake as I did.

First 2 hours, and such a cheap rate with such an enthusiastic teacher is a damn fiine deal.

Whilst I'm sure there isn't a huge demand for Indo tutors, help throughout the year will definitely give you an edge :)

If your school doesn't offer a conversationalist outside class time, a tutor would be mega mega helpful.
Having someone who you can practice general conversation with throughout the year is really important in developing fluency, which is something they really look for the in oral exams. :D
A tutor's help in refining your detailed study and the way you phrase your general convo responses would be invaluable also. :)

Got to know this guy more at uni.

This bloke loves his Indo and is a really energetic and entertaining bloke, definitely top qualities when it comes to determining a tutor. Whilst I haven't much experience with languages, I think that he would definitely make learning Indo interesting, and no doubt would be an excellent help if you got him to help you in VCE.
