Just out of interest...
Who was your favourite teacher you had in 2010?
-
no one.
-
hahah.
My bio teacher was the best.
-
Eco teacher wins by far. Gave me Megabucks (board game) for my birthday as well as banana-choc chip muffins. Top that!
-
Probably enjoyed reading some of Mao's chem guides the most...
So Mao

My favourite teacher is my English Language teacher :D
She's such a mother to me, I nicknamed her Mum after a few weeks and she calls me baby! Does anyone else have a mentor, teacher student program at school?
-
Thats a bit odd calling a teacher mum ;)
-
My methods teacher since I had her in year 10 and when I screwed up my first test she believed I was better than that so it motivated me to keep up my high standards :D
-
None of my teachers were fantastic this year, to be perfectly honest.
However, my Legals/Psych teacher was definitely the most helpful in terms of supplying good notes and preparing us for the exam.
-
Bio and Methods! :)
-
Legal studies teacher and my maths teacher- only had him for about 3 months :(
-
My Meth + Spesh teacher. I love her.
-
My psychology teacher, her husband passed away after the mid year exam and yet she came back mid term 3 because she didn't want to feel like she'd abandoned us. Most amazing person, always looking to help us and even in such horrible circumstances she pulled through. Me and my friend are getting her like 5 different presents for being so amazing.
My other teachers were all awful though, my english teacher thought we had a mid year (never taught year 12 before was pretty clueless about it), my media teacher didn't even know what he was on about, my chem and methods teachers both didn't care about the year 12s. If I ever became a teacher I'd hope to be somewhat like my psychology one. Truly inspirational lady.
I think a teacher has a big influence over how much work you do, well for me it did. My psychology teacher was so great I always put in extra effor to make sure I didn't disappoint her, while with teachers that didn't care about me I didn't really care as much about doing work in the subject. It's terrible, I wish I wasn't so affected by teachers :(
-
. It's terrible, I wish I wasn't so affected by teachers :(
No no..it's so true, you tend to work better if you like your teacher. Your attitude changes and how you perceive the subject.
hopefully at the end everything will pay off.
-
physics and spesh teacher xD
-
Accounting/Legal/Methods were all amazing!
-
Methods teacher definitely. He's leaving to teach at PLC or something next year :(
-
Maths teacher :D
She motivates everyone! She also pushes us to study hard.
Shes also very funny.

hmmm I'm thinking about rebutting this hahahaa

In terms of sheer teaching quality (I was probably closest with my English and ex-Philosophy teachers personally), most likely my Literature teacher - he's the head of English at MGS, and I honestly believe the reason our school's English results are so good is because of him. Marking was often done in less than half an hour (I kid you not, in the third term holidays I would write essays, email them to him and he'd give them back within the half hour), and his knowledge of the texts were simply profound; halfway through the year, we found out that he'd lectured and completed part of a PhD at one of the Oxbridge schools, and we also knew all along that he was an Ivy League graduate (Pennyslvania).

oh wow...he sounds wonderful
I remember handing in a 1 and a 1/2 page practice piece of writing to my lit teacher. She gave it to me two weeks later with, I kid you not, two words of feedback.
-
Year 9 Science and English teachers lol
all the rest have been crap...
edit: further teacher last year was awesome too!
-
I remember how my English teacher gave us half-assed comments on our work :(
she simply wrote "well expressed, lacks detail" on my B+ film-analysis and on my friend's A-grade-analysis she wrote "sound."

What part? I speak the truth. I'm guessing it's about hobo and ezzy. Well they didn't care. By the end they didn't even want to waste paper on practice exams for us.

Same here (for the former)! Though I am yet to attest to the projected godliness of the latter. :p

EZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
I actually called him that before the chem exam. I was like "Are you gonna be there after the exam ezzy?" He just gave me a death stare and walked away haha.
-
All shit except for Spesh, he is legen..wait for it, dary.
-
English teacher.
She let me teach the class on a number of occasions because, I quote, I was better than her in year 8 and I'm still better than her in year 11.
She thinks she hasn't taught me anything at all... but this is hardly the case! Gotta love the teachers that unknowingly help you out, and don't see their true helpfulness!!
-
My English teacher for sure.
She was amazing, always put in extra effort for our class and made us cup cakes at the end of the year :smitten:
-
UMEP Physics teacher. So passionate, so nice, so smart... he had a PhD but was always so humble about his achievements in a myriad of areas.
-
I don't have teachers. >_>

I don't have teachers. >_>
Distance Ed?
-
Methods - best. would have failed methods if it wasnt for him
English - she was a passionate teacher and pretty hot as well
Accounting - lol most laid back teacher ever. rarely listened in the 2 years i had him. he just let us run amok.
Overall some pretty good teachers for me this year.
-
Personally, teachers that let students run amok are annoying ):
-
My specialist maths teacher was my best "teacher", also a good guy
as for good people, my english was a top bloke, and methods was the bestt (didnt learn much though)
-
^ If you could kindly get your arse to bed. It's past your bedtime.
