hey guys, im going to be having a two day massive applications task soon and i have no idea what an applications task is or looks like. Does anyone have any mock/ practise application tasks?..... casuse im really lost right now. ???
ANY help would be great :)

Application tasks aren't that bad, actually. It is just simply applying your knowledge of specific areas of study to different scenarios. What we did at our school was our teacher put up practice questions on the board, and we tried them. They were really simple and easy. The only thing that annoys me is that our SAC's need to be cross-marked and that takes ages :(. Don't have any practice ones though, sorry.

LOL to solve the type of equations my teacher puts up, you have to be a einstein himself. He always overkills it with the types of questions he puts. He knows his math inside out (been teaching since the time of dinosaurs), which causes him to be at times cocky. He gave us no samples no hints, NOTHING.

Don't worry, you are being marked against your cohort, so if it is a hard SAC then likely everyone will do badly. Just try your best. To make sure you've done your best, I would advise spending extra homework time on it.
In mine I did some extra research on damping factors, just to understand the SAC better. It only was 2 pages (1-sided) and consisted of about 10 linked questions overall. Getting it back early next week! :O

Wait Chubz, who do you have for methods? Lol. If it's a certain someone, who has been teaching at our school from day one, then you shouldn't worry too much about the sac, however if you have that other math teacher, then i'd be looking at specialist math questions as well or possibly other chapters from your methods book(i think you know who i'm refering to lolz)

LOL ;) Odette-yeah its not the one that has been teeching from day one, its the other newer more 'interesting teacher'. He teaches physics. I WISH i had the other teacher, he is the BEST- instead he is teachin the easy math and and even spec math (after spec protest of 5 kids) :P
may god have mercy,on me
But hay what makes it more stressful is i have a massive psych sac on monday aswell----- such a drain :o
now again, back to math, 'im screwed' :(

I cannot allow SAC questions being answered/pointed on this board.
that is, any analysis question posted by chubz in the next week [or more] will be locked as seen previously to orangez's question.

woa easy there Mao, i dont intend to post any SAC questions to be answered, i was only asking for some practise application task type questions. i doesnt really matter, i managed to get some off a friend anyway :) I dont really use this board to ask questions about math anyway, because i find it difficult to understand over the computer (just me personally)- I only really use the board to ask questions about other subjects. But i understand your point. ;)

Lol I didn't mean SAC questions lol... i meant questions that could help him on SACs(questions in his textbook or examples of analysis type questions, etc), or questions he has on particular topics, obviously he shouldnt be using VN to cheat on SACs..

I didn't think schools gave take home method sacs.

Really? Mine did :P ^_^

I didn't think schools gave take home method sacs.
but there are SACs that run over a period of time [such as application tasks], and no one says you have to absolutely forget what the question is.
I have also recieved smiting for this:
not like tutors wont help otherstudents
please get this straight:
SACs are to test what you know, not how well you can research during that time. if you managed to get help to finish a question that you otherwise would've gotten wrong [or did do] had you tried to figure it out on your own, that gives you an unfair advantage over other people who may or may not have been more abled.
that is just absolutely low, no one is going to help you in the exam, your improved SAC score will just serve to bring down your cohort.
-
Despite that, it's a dog eat dog world. I don't doubt many people do it without considering the consequences for their cohort.
-
my sac will be running tomorrow and instead of two days it will be one long ass session. Just cant wait to get it over with :-\
also got a psych sac on that day but i will live
...and a mock 3 hour GAT :o the fun just never ends

oh and on the subject of cheating, i agree with mao that it aint fair nor right- but on the other hand, welcome to the reality of the VCE of today. Me on a personal level, i see no point in it, because when it come to the exam, your gone!

Damn..a mock GAT. So pointless
