Title: 99,95 Tuition for Methods, Specialist, UMEP Mathematics, Chemistry and French
Post by: fuzzylogic on December 21, 2010, 10:05:32 am
I am offering tuition for VCE Methods, Specialist Maths and French.
I did Methods last year, receiving a 50
And Specialist Maths and French this year, receiving 50s in both.
I received Academic Awards in all these subjects at school (as well as English [50] and Chemistry [49])

Tutoring is something I feel passionate about, having helped many of my friends throughout high school.  While I know many students are able to succeed brilliantly sans tutoring, I always felt that it gave me an added sense of confidence in my ability and was crucial in helping me better understand and consolidate the little hurdles along the way in each subject. Also, I have always been an advocate of starting young (ie. building foundations from an early age).  As a result, I am also open to tutoring younger year levels with core maths, science and english.

I feel I have a deep understanding of the Maths Methods and Specialist Maths course, and would be able to help students better understand the basics as well as teaching them the little tricks that helped me in exams and SACs.  I have access to a great number of resources, such as practice exams, trial SACs, old CATs which I have accumulated over the years, as well as some that I have been creating myself.  I am flexible in my teaching methods: we can either pre-learn the course in preparation for next year, or students can bring in questions they have trouble with and go through the theory behind them.

I also did UMEP Mathematics this year, and received a 5.5 increment with an H1 of 93%.  Feel free to PM me for more information about this, as my method of teaching this subject would be quite different.

As for French, I am not a native speaker, but I did manage to get a 50, if that says anything!
Throughout high school, I had a strong grasp of the grammar points involved.
I can also provide advice on how to improve general conversation (this is a very important part of the course, and I will also be providing general conversation lessons only if that is what students require!), listening comprehension, reading comprehension and the ever important writing.  I can also help students with their detailed studies.  For a language, the more resources and more practice time one can get, the better!

Preferably, the sessions will be at my house (SE suburbs) as this is where I have most of my resources and is therefore more convenient for me and more beneficial for the student :)

Fees will be discussed after the first session! :)

hi,

since you got a 50 in french you'd probably be the best person to ask!

what advice would you give, for getting a head start in the summer holidays. Personally i feel french is a bit hard to study forr Was there anything you did in particular that you found really helped you?? \

Thanks in advance

Two questions:
- whereabouts in the south eastern suburbs are you?
- are you able to tutor English for the year?

Endorsed. Fuzzy is also extremely adept at musical arts, four instruments!
Only warning- prepare to die if you don't get 99.95 after she tutors you.

Hmm I know someone who could be a real contender for "dux of the state" - he has an epic aggregate.
EDIT: his aggregate is ~0.5 less than fuzzylogic's LOL.

Her's is between 216 and 217. My friend's is mid-215 to mid-216. LOL it just struck me that I might know the two people with the highest aggregates for 2010.

I have heard that said so many times! Though i mean, these numbers kinda are the start to your illustrious career in whatever it is that you want to do, so they are important! Anyways, crying time is over, now I'll just congratulate you on your 217, be content with my 212, and hopefully don't fail the interview and not wind up at Monash!
Right?
Right!

Yeah, offered the scholarship, yet cannot receive it until we get into the course. For me, I received a 96th percentile in UMAT with a raw score of 63. The cutoff this year was 61 which I think was around 93rd percentile. And thank-oo fuzzy-wuzzy. I'll just look for the PLC girl. :-P
