Title: Rating Universities
Post by: sam99 on December 29, 2010, 05:46:19 pm
Just came across this site which rates Unis. It also has comments from 'students' who have are at the institutions. Don't know how reliable but maybe a little useful.

I reckon 5.7 is pretty generous.

Most of the people who go onto that site would be looking to have a whinge. I find it amusing that the picture for UoM isn't even part of the uni: it's Queen's College, lol.

I don't know if RMIT even have an on-campus foodcourt, but it's ridiculously close to hungry jack's, nando's etc.

I thought RMIT has lectures and buildings all over the city, not just in one place. I may be wrong.

RMIT has a food court, but it's location pretty much kills the other unis.

I know a lot of people at RMIT who are really frustrated by the location. Not that many classes are in the main buildings on Swanston: you could find yourself going all over the city and Carlton to get to classes. It's not that easy to meet up with your friends for lunch in the city when you finish a class on Lygon street and have another one there an hour later.

LOL all the Bond kids rating it high in a vain attempt to justify their spending on private tertiary education.

RMIT does seem like a major bitch to go around... a little cramped i found too...

University rankings are bullshit anyway and are based on things that arent relevant to some students (eg.research instead of quality of teaching) and they might be more than a bit dodgy. A group of people tried to reproduce the shanghai jiao tong rankings but they couldn't.

LOL all the Bond kids rating it high in a vain attempt to justify their parents spending on private tertiary education.

Edited for accuracy.  :)

The RMIT food court place seems pretty cool, but yes inconvenient. Good thing that most of the CBD could conceivably be the food court ;)

It's impossible to give a generic rank for the universities anyway as there is alot of swaying when you compare the individual faculties. Such as, Deakin would most likely have the best Education/Teaching courses while Monash has the best Science/Engineering.
UoM clearly has the best food tech. course.
