Title: Vector question - help would be appreciated!
Post by: Andiio on January 01, 2011, 02:41:43 pm
Why does the addition of those 2 vectors bisect theta?

Am I missing something simple? :S

Thanks!

Draw parallelogram. :)

I meant rhombus. Note that both are unit vectors.

Draw parallelogram. :)

Consider myself FACEPALM'D LOL.

Thanks Mao!
It's just the diagonal of the parallelogram, right?

Yes, the diagonal is the sum, but bisection is only for
Rhombus*, this only works if they have the same magnitude (which is true in this case, both are unit vectors)

If they have different magnitudes, you''re more or less fucked :P
