Title: Accounting, Economics, Further Math, or English Language Tutor (Ballarat)
Post by: Hodgeyhodgey on January 05, 2011, 10:51:04 pm
Hey guys,

I'm really looking to kick it up a notch this year and go all out. Tutoring, countless hours of studying and an endless amount of effort. I really want to prove myself and prove that despite not having the best facilities, teachers, or reputation, my school can still suffice as a ground for achievement.
It's most likely a bit of a stretch, but there wouldn't happen to be anyone around the Ballarat area (hour and a half from Melbourne) willing to tutor the above subjects?

Thanks for any help :)

Not sure about the location though, but still, you should contact him! He'd be a wicked tutor for you.

Tutoring via skype maybe?  8-) haha

Haha, thanks for the endorsement SlumDawg!

I'd be happy to help you out with all those subjects bar EL. It's good to see so many people deciding to do Economics :)
Contact me if you are interested :D

It'll be a stretch to find a tutor from Ballarat here. Check the recent dux's of your school and see if they are willing to help you out?

Otherwise you could save up heaps of questions in all your subjects, and make one thread for each of your subjects titled "hodgeyhodgey's questions". I think people will be willing to help you to a fair extent. I think with Accounting/Economics, as long as you can do the mathsy bits, and get all your definitions confirmed by someone, you should be able to do very well :)

Oh don't worry, I'll be on these forums quite a bit asking as much as I need :P
And also, maybe dux's of my school aren't a good idea...

There are no "mathsy bits" in Economics :P

Hi Hodgey. I'm a further maths tutor, and I've recorded a bunch of tutoring videos on youtube that you might find helpful. So far I've only recorded vids on the univariate data chapter from the core section, but I'm working my way through the course slowly.

I'm also happy to give you some tutoring for free over the net using scribblar if you like (it's an interactive online whiteboard thingy with voice chat). I've been tutoring for a few years but I feel bad for the students who can't afford it or who are not in Melb so don't have as much access, like you, particularly if they WANT to apply themselves to study, but just don't have the best facilities or teachers or whatever. Hence the 'for free' part - I'm trying to get some good karma haha

I've put the tutes up at http://www.vcefurthermaths.com so maybe take a look and see if that's of any help to you. Feel free to shoot me an email with any questions you want answered, I have most of the textbooks (maths quest, essential further maths, etc.) so am happy to run you through a few problems [email protected]

All the best with your study!
Shannon
