Since no one has started a good luck board yet, I thought it'd only be fair if Psychology had one. :)
How's everyone feeling? Nervous? Apathetic?
-
Stressed about stress...
Good Luck Anyways (lol, these mid year 'exam discussion threads' are tht only threads I can post in)
-
im stressed out like you dont believe lol. although for the vcaa 2005 exam i got 81/90 and the 2006 i got 87/90 lol.
tomorrow i plan to do the neap 2007 and vcaa 2007,and read over more notes. i hate research methods.
-
87/90 = Very nice
-
I'm sure you'll obliterate it Kido :)
-
Good luck everyone! :)
I'm currently feeling OK about psychology (in terms of knowing the content), but still feeling very nervous. The stress leading up to exams is always pretty bad. I just want to get both my mid-years over and done with!
-
good luck for thursday :)!
kinda anxious that theyll put something on the exam that i havnt learnt, like something small that seemed insignificant at the time.........
-
goodluck ppl
-
Shouldnt be that hard hopefully!!!! Goodluck everyone
-
hopefully
lol i certainly hope so!
how tough will they be about wording, do you think?
e.g. if i just wrote 'case studies are time consuming' - would i get a mark, or would i have to say 'case studies are time consuming because of the lengthy process of analysing and collating information'?
anyway, good luck everyone!

I think it'll be better if you elaborate, my teacher is always nagging us to be really specific with answers just in case we get a 'tough marker'.
-
We have heaps of time for psych, i find i do anyway, so you might aswell be safe and write full sentence or just fill up the space provided.

The examiners are very tough on wording- they expect sufficient detail, especially on questions which are worth two or more marks. If you wrote "case studies are time consuming" you'd probably scrape in a mark with a nice marker- it's best to elaborate if you know the information.
-
how about "case studies are time consuming and costly as the individual has unique characteristics".
would that be sufficient?
-
Good luck guys...It will be a blast.
-
How is everyone feeling? Im pretty confident!!
-
feeling ok! feeling a bit better then for revs last year which is always good.
goodlucky everyone! hope everyone does their best and comes out of it with the score they want.

Dude, you kicked ass in history revs.
But back to business. I'm feeling very confident, but i just want the exam to be over so i can throw away all of the past exams and unit 3 infomation i've written lol.
-
Good luck everyone!
You all seem to be a bright bunch so I'm sure you will all ace it! :)
-
Good luck everyone!
I'm off to bed to get a good nights sleep, thats if i fall asleep now haha.
the exam tomorrow will be simple, just keep that in your mind lol.
-
god i hate nelson! Contradictory definitions....can some1 please define spatial neglect?
-
Spatial Neglect or Neglect Syndrome occurs due to damage to the right partietal lobe. It is characterised by the tendency to completely ignore (or neglect) the left hand side of the world. For example, when eating dinner, only food from the right hand side of the plate would be eaten. Another example is brushing your hair, only the right side would be brushed.
-
You don't need to know about neglect syndrome.
-
awsome! ok let's clear some things up.
any chance their will be any questions on:
pineal gland
defs of daydreaming, meditation, hyponsis and Anaesthesia?
-
i don't think they'll ask about the pineal gland, but if you want to know, it secretes melatonin
daydreaming...maybe - a period of thinking or feeling whilst awake that is not constrained by the bounds of logic or reality
the other three? hopefully not (:
but i'm not sure, sorry
-
do we need to know spinal reflex?
also, good luck to everyone and have a good nights sleep. (:
-
i'm guessing that's from the old study design, because i can't find find information about that either.
anyway, i'm off for an early night's sleep - so good luck for tomorrow everyone! :)
-
okies, thanks! :)
-
Don't need to know spinal reflex- old study design.
Would be good to know definitions for daydreaming, meditation and hypnosis (very unlikely though).
-
we don't need to know what the centre for reflexive control is do we?
-
we don't need to know what the centre for reflexive control is do we?
No you don't.
-
Thanks :D!
-
I am very excited about the exam tomorrow, unlike last night, I was dreading the biology exam.
Goodluck to everyone doing the exam tomorrow and make sure you're not cognitively impaired from stress or from sleep deprivation :buck2:
-
biggest boost of confidence for everyone: the lowes scoring short answer question since 2004 was 'how is the primary motor and primary somatosensory cortexs organised' with a 5% success ration. i'm sure everyone know's that and will be set for the exam! good luck
-
Exam starts in less than an hour, anyone still trying to cram in that last bit of info? ;D
-
I'm thinking of you as you're in the exam [at the time of posting].
