I'm uber pumped, but at the same time kinda stressing out to finish all my holiday homework and to feel prepared. :D/:(
-
I went to lectures, I revised, I made flashcards, read all my English books, went to tutors...somehow it doesn't feel like enough...maybe I expected to get more done....
But since school is almost starting, I'm feeling excited :)

Yeah?
My motivation has gradually decreased and i feel as though i havent done much compared to azngirl456.
-
haha 2 days in already.... and im feeling quite overloaded (but motivated!)

I can't say I'm that excited, since I've been back to school for a week now. I'm hoping to enjoy Year 12 and hopefully at the end of this year, I'll get the score that I want. I prepared enough; I went to some lectures, and finished more than what I needed to do over the holidays. I've got no idea what I want to do after Year 12; I'll take things as they come. Last year of schooling. :p

Sums up my situation nicely - except for being back to school already :P
-
Yeeeah, was really motivated right into 2011, but as of today I just feel flat. Maybe it's because of been working 5 hours plus two weeks, or that I didn't get much sleep last night, or the heat maybe, but yeah, lacking in motivation at the moment, just want to start the year already.

In the round brackets is what I've done, in the square brackets is what i wanted done, but due to laziness, i could not complete
English
(Read 1 text, nearly prepared for oral SAC) [read all three texts, fully prepared for oral sac]
Methods:
(Completed Chapter 1 of MQUEST, and Up to 2C) [Completed up to at least chapter 6 = EPIC T_T]
Legal studies:
(nothing) [initially wanted to do a lot, but i'm happy with the way things are]
Chemistry:
(AOS 2 + Revision of important concepts of yr 11 /excluding redox and acid+base) [can't complain TOO much]
Accounting
(Unit 3) [Can't complain]
UMAT:
(few drills, 1 practice exam) [happy so far]
seriously failed methods preparation though...
-
I was really motivated about 2011 after finishing exams last year.. did so much work in December. Probably coz I wasn't used to relaxing after all those exams :P
And in January I did basically nothing. Need the motivation back!
-
YEAH I'M MOTIVATED AND EXCITED FOR YEAR 12 :)
-
How can anybody 'look forward' to Year 12? :idiot2:
Wouldn't you rather be a baby where all you had to do was eat, sleep and poop. :smitten:
-
YEAH GO DETECTIVE YOU ROCK!
-
Yeah I'm feeling pretty good, I know I've done more than basically anyone else in my year haha
As long as nothing majorly bad happens (ie bad exams/tests etc), I should be fine until the week leading into exams, and a month after that, the ATAR, and a month after that, offers.
Oh shit, it's longer than I thought :o

Yeah, I was worried today about not doing everything I'd wanted to this holidays, and then signed onto Facebook and got bombarded on chat with people asking me to help them do all the English homework, two days before we go back.
Feeling slightly better :3

Hahaha that always happens and always makes you feel better, but then you remember that you're against the state...

How about when you stuck your face onto the Concession card form thingy for a yearly myki? :P

I got my yr 9 bro to do it (first year at MHS). He was so enthusiastic and I didn't want to ruin his fun... ;)

LOL why is it that when one person in a family gets into MHS/MacRob, the rest get in too...?! I've noticed this is the case for most families ;D

Most school usually allow people a preference if they have family already enrolled, in my experience. I was miles out of the zone for my school, but got in because my cousin did really well the year before.

"Holy 6.02 x 10^23" you mean, get into the spirit.
That would be the number of molecules in 1 mole of Holy.
Let me pose this question.
If there are 5 moles of 2HO(Ly)3 in a given sample, what would the mass of the Holy in the sample be? :coolsmiley:
-
I haven't prepared, haven't gone to any lectures and haven't even completed some subject's homework because I won't be having that class on Friday... This does not bode well on me but at least I'm slightly refreshed for whatever y12 has in store for me.

Yes, they usually have that rule for most schools. But in the case of Mac.Rob, you can't claim that you have a sister there and then you're automatically given a spot. I know friends who are twins and only one of them got accepted and the other went to another school.
I hear for MHS, that if you're applying for year 11 or 12, you can mention in your application that you've had a brother who went there and it might increase your chances. Not sure about this, but maybe the many MHS guys on this forum can confirm that.
-
I've progressively completed everything over the holidays, except two tasks which were too difficult/couldn't be bothered doing (a pretty difficult handout for physics, and to study for an EL grammar test); so I can probably take it easy until friday when I start (even though I still have to buy stationary :/). I've been to lectures for physics and spesh, and I've seen a few tutors over the last couple of weeks, so I feel that I've done enough.
Am I pumped for 2011? Not really. While I'm actually looking forward to some of my subjects, I'm not completely looking forward to getting back to my school. I'm looking forward to getting through to the end of the year, and moving on to something different lol
-
wow, many of you guys seem to do so much work. I feel like such a noob lol.
-

Heh, I initially thought I managed to get off lightly (only had set work for 3 subjects), but then when I started talking to other students I knew, I realised that they had at least three times the workload I had...

Our school gave us nearly 0% workload.
PS: Excludes a hand out sheet for chemistry, 1 chapter for methods, and reading texts.
-
I had a chapter for methods, an exercise and a handout for physics, and an essay/test study for english language. I got nothing for spesh, and I was told to read the textbook for MUEP
-
I actually am slightly pumped, which is weird considering I never have been any other year.
I've completed all of my holiday homework except for some Psych stuff (kinda hard to do when the textbook hasn't even been printed). I've done some work for EL, and read a chapter of my BM textbook. So yeah, I really haven't done a lot during the holidays :S
I'm looking forward to getting through to the end of the year, and moving on to something different lol
^ Agreed.

Best first day, 4 frees (and recess + lunchtime) to end the day! Only went to school for like 2.5 hours! ;D
-
I suddenly feel motivated after going back to school.
Only thing that bothered me was the student to space ratio. Note to other schools, having 2200 students and teachers on ONE site just doesn't work. Our school literally looks like a zoo at lunchtimes.

Come to MHS library ~1hr b4 an exam - that's when you'll know what a zoo is.
-
No comment.

The first day of the last year of high school finally over. 161 days until my first exam...

Isn't he really into the MHS spirit? I heard his speeches revolve around the 'ideal MHS student'

Ludo's speeches can either be very interesting, or very repetitive.
ie., start of 4th term, "it's the final quarter-play off..."

I missed it too. But I think there was this one time where Ludo said "attendingness" on accident, when he was talking about Unapproved Absences.
