Title: Renaissance freebies
Post by: JSB on February 20, 2011, 06:48:15 pm
Hey everyone, I've just changed my subjects around and am no longer doing Renaissance ( :()
I actually bought quite a few extra books for it though and out of the goodness of my heart  am wondering if anyone wanted anything?
here's a list of the bits and pieces I have collected:
- Gene Brucker: Renaissance Florence
- Robert Hole: Renaissance Italy
- Christopher Hibbert: Venice the biography of a city
 - Christopher Hibbert: The rise and fall of the house of Medici
- George Holmes: Renaissance
- a book on Botticelli
- a booklet of information on city-states photocopied from various sources given to me by my teacher
- a booklet of quite a few past SAC and exam essays as well as sample exam questions and answers I bought from the VCE resources centre
if anyone wants anything then just let me know  :)

OMGOSH.
I think I'm in love with you! :)

I kinda want to say "I want everythings!" now. :P

But, in an effort not to be selfish, I would love to acquire both Hibbert's books (I'm currently reading the Medici one and it's a pain having to return and reborrow it every week at school!), as well as Brucker's Renaissance Florence.

Whereabouts do you go to school/live? I would love you meet up and take these books off your hands. :P

haha! you may change your mind about that... ;)

I go to school in the city - would that be alright for you Menang?
I'll let you know if I have anything left over if no one else wants anything :)

I'd love anything you can offer, but I live in the country, about two hours away from the city, so it's not exactly easy for me to pop in and take them off your hands xD

I go to school in the city too! (lol MaRob) :) Which school do you go to? :P

And yes, I definitely want any and all leftovers, but I shoddy the Hibbert and Brucker books. :P I'm so selfish lol. :D

I'm at CAE - so am in and out of Flinders st pretty much everyday :) I could probably drop off books after school time?
So just confirming Menang gets the two Hibberts and the Brucker
and Water gets the R.Hole book
LeahT I'm sorry that you live so far away, your not by any chance coming into Melbourne anytime soon are yo?

ohh yay, I actually get it :D. When would you like to meet up, ;D?

@Menang   I don't do Renaissance Italy, but I've always been very interested in it though, I've just watched documentaries and stuff on it, but never really had a book to read about it. Neither schools that I attend offered it. Medici is also an interesting family that I've always been enthusiastic about, mauahahah xD

That sounds pretty good. :)
I could meet you at Flinders St at around 3:45 on most days. :) Earlier on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays thanks to frees and such.

Which do you prefer?

Edit: @Water, I didn't know you do Renaissance! :)

I usually get to Flinders around 7:20-7:40 in the morning (tiny gap, I know) and I can wait till around 8am on Mondays and Wednesdays.

I can do Thursdays! :D

I can be at Flinders around 1pm on Thursdays (may be a tad late, it's cutting a little close) but yeah, Thursday should work fine?

Edit: Wow, this in incredible. :P Robert Hole and Patricia Brown's books were on my booklist. I could have saved like $50. :P

menang I could probably meet you in front or around macrob somewhere on thursday before 1:00pm if it's cutting it too close- it wouldn't be a problem because I try to make myself run at Albert Park once a week (key word is try) so it wouldn't be a stretch at all?!

Look for the asian girl in MacRob uniform. That doesn't really narrow it down, so I'll just look for you. :P
