Hey so at the moment I'm doing 5 subjects, as per my sig, and I'm finding it difficult to keep up in all my classes.
Which is annoying, because I UNDERSTAND the concepts, I just do not physically have the time to do all the homework/required study to actually do as well as I would like in them.
So, my question is, how would dropping Further, and not picking up anything, possibly effect my ATAR? Does the benefit of having more frees outweigh the 10% increment which Further will give me?

I wouldn't claim to be an expert on Math subjects, but I would've thought your selection of subjects would greatly cut down the number of hours you need to put into class.
I thought that generally speaking, doing Spesh meant you didn't need to study for Methods, and doing those two meant you generally didn't need to study for Further?

I don't think there would be any point to drop further. In all seriousness the homework isnt really necessary, just do what you cna in class i.e. dont get distracted. By doing this you can probably get ahead of the class if you use you time wisely.
Otherwise i wouldnt be too concerned just keep at it and see what happens, if all goes bad then just dont do anything for further, as in do work from other subjects in further classes and sit the sacs. That way you can still get a study score even if it be a 20. Which would probably be 2.0 to your aggregate which can be helpful.

+1, you'd be surprised how much difference a 2.0 can make in the final result. Just grin and bear it out :)

Performing Poorly in a subject > not performing in a subject (look at what happened to stonecold- all he needed was 0.04 to his aggregate and he would have guarenteed entry to med, it could end up coming in very handy)

Just saying, if u don't care about it as your sig says...why not just keep do mimimun work and cram for SACS?

I'd say you wouldn't have to do much work for Further anyway given you're doing Specialist and Methods, so dropping Further doesn't seem necessary. However you don't need two increment subjects to get a good ATAR; see my signature.

I think better time management is the solution. With three Maths, I can't see how you can be struggling to keep up to date. You say that you understand all the concepts, and if that's really the case, then just work out what homework you actually need to do. Don't just do homework for the sake of doing it - do it for what you get out of it. I spent the entire of year 12 having done almost no methods exercises because spesh made it redundant. Physics also complements spesh in many areas as well. While Further's a bit different in terms of content, just do the amount of questions you need to do rather than doing every question or even what your syllabus states.
If you're already maximising your time though and still struggling, then as others have said, you could just wing it and get a 20 or something; possibly more given you've got 2 other Maths. But if you're really concerned about the time, you could drop it so that you get some spares in your day but my experience is that spares are nowhere near as beneficial as you'd expect.
