Title: GPA
Post by: Sah123 on March 13, 2011, 08:54:34 pm
A really random question about GPA. Do our grades in a concurrent diploma we do alongside our degree, count towards our GPA? For example, if I want to transfer mid-year, do they look at both my ATAR as well as my grades in my BA + my dip-lang? Also, when it comes to mid-year transfers, do they place more weight on my ATAR score or my first semester results?

if you are in first year i know for melbourne they look purely on your average grade from that single semester of all your subjects for the transfer - ATAR doesn't matter

Oh, I was under the impression most universities looked at your ATAR more closely than anything else in terms of a mid-year transfer :S

I believe the ATAR plays a role in it too since you've only done one semester of tertiary study, not a full year.

I know someone who got ~60 average in B.Com at UoM and wanted a transfer to B.Sci and she got in because her ATAR was above the Clearly-In.

Mid year transfer they'll consider your ATAR as well
