Hey all,
I was just hoping someone could confirm that my understanding of this topic is okay.
The topic is: “I would try to be the best woman that Elinor wished me to be.” How important is Anna’s friendship with Elinor?
Initially I understood the topic in terms of Anna, how important it is to Anna's development and so on. But now I've realised that it actually does not specify "How important is Anna's friendship with Elinor to Anna's development" (or something like that). I've taken a more broader approach.
Of course, the bulk of my essay still is the importance of Elinor to Anna's development but my three other points are:
- the friendship is important to Elinor too
- the friendship is of importance to the whole community (as they work together to bring comfort, are an example of response to adversity etc.)
- the friendship initiates Anna's intimate friendship with Michael at the end.
Am I understanding the question correctly? Cos this is a SAC and I'm worried that I have missed the point.
Any help would be extremely appreciated. Thanks in advance!! :)

Hi Cibicl,
that's a fantastic response :)
I think you should also include Anna's epiphany at the end since she realises that Elinor and Michael's relationship isn't all it appears to be. In fact, she ends up despising Michael because of it.

I was getting worried that I may have not interpreted the question properly.
