three fair dice are rolled together and the number of dots on the upper face are noted. the desired outcome is 6. let x be the number of 6s showing on the 3 dice per roll.
a) wat is the probability of the bernoulli event of throwing a 6?
b) what is the number of trials?
c) state the probability distribution of X
-
a) 1/6
b) 3
c)
X~Bi(n,p)
X~Bi(3,1/6)
a is just the Pr of getting a 6 on each throw, b is how many times you're throwing your dice (Question says all at the same time, logically equivalent to 3 successive throws) and c is just using the notation (I believe this is what it wants).
