Modernizing Shakespeare alters the meaning of it all - half of Shakespeare is the language...

I think that providing 'translations' so that students can follow the basic story is a good idea, but I agree that if you want to actually enjoy Shakespeare, you do have to read the non-modernised version. Or see it performed.
