Like what sort of marks in the GA1 GA2 GA3 do you need
what happens if you get GA1 B+ GA2 A GA3 A
-
with those hypothetical results i think that's around a 36-38, no?
-
What about a 40-45 raw score?
-
Assuming all high A+'s?
-
if you got all high A+s i think you'd be looking more at 45+
all low A+s would get you 38-39
-
awesome.
thank you :)
-
Yay for me then :)
-
what if you get A A A ? assuming they are in the 88% range and the person is ranked 1st in a cohort of 12 people.
-
I scored a raw 39 last year. My marks were:
A+ [folios]
A [written sacs]
B+ [exam]
Gosh if only I'd tried harder with my essays, could have made that one mark difference.. Oh well, good luck to you! =]
-
i'm so worried now! D:
-
I did VCD last year and got a 37
my marks were
GA1 A
GA2 A+
GA3 B+
i was in year 11, and i was unaware about the marking system and thought i'd get a 45 hahaha. oh how naive i was.
-
what you mean about the marking system?
-
can anyone suggest any possible study score outcomes with these results.
ranked 1st out of a class made up of 8 people.
i scored 88/100 for term 4, so around A. this term, the teacher said i expect any where between high A or A+ for my term 4 folio/s. For my exam, if i can shell out a mid A to a mid A+, what would you expect my mark to be? Also what would be the minimum to get in my exam in order to secure that 40+? thanx

A,A,A: I'd say 37 or 38
-
me too...
and what i meant by the 'marking system' is that i didn't understand what marks got you over 40, and how much preperation was necessary for the exam.
don't underestimate the difficultly of the exam - it's hard to do well.
-
why's it hard to do well in the exam? i did a practice exam yesterday and it took me 1 hour to complete. fairly easy i must admit. i went to the statement of marks and i got them all right lol. but i just need to better revise my specialists and stuff like that.
-
even though you may be getting 'full marks' according to the assessment reports, a lot of people will be in the same situation. lets face it, vcd is not an extremely hard subject, but when it comes to the exam a lot of people get overconfident and thus don't produce their best work. the examiners tend to mark exams extremely hard when it is a subject that a lot of people can do well in. I'm not saying that you will go badly, because that's not true. you may get an A+ and get a 40+ study score. all i'm saying is that you shouldn't get overconfident. keep doing practice exams like you are now, and work with your teacher so that your writter answers are perfect. this is the most vital part of the exam that people neglect.
peace.
-
yer that's true, written is usually the part left out. thanks for the heads up mike.
-
no probs hard, anytime.
-
Hoping to get 40+ for VCD :)
I have a question:
Give or take the -33%- for the end of year exam, would all your sacs still be moderated?
Thanks
-
I'd suggest keep doing prac exams and work on getting your language succinct and articulate. i did VCD last yr and not that i was aiming for any particular study score, i lost no marks on the sac's or folio but when it came the exam, i did feel as though i could have done better with the short answers. i got a 42 raw score in the end.
for me the biggest killer were the questions about the professional practitioner and why they made decisions in using a particular material etc. make sure you have a good basic/general knowledge on stuff like that!
good luck - i loved vcd =)
-
i got 44 raw! and 42 scaled.
A+ A+ A+
-
i got 44 raw! and 42 scaled.
A+ A+ A+
GREAT WORK VCD IS HARD PEOPLE
-
Will be ordering SoM for VCD
-
I got a SS of 40 for VCD, and received my SoM today.
186 was the maximum score and 148/186 = 74/93 = 79.5% = A+ range this year.
-
i got a dam B for the exam, lol ;s 35 ss
-
A+, A+, A and I got a SS of 43.
:(
I don't know where I lost marks (PROBABLY THAT PLANOMETRIC KEY THING). I wish I'd ordered a SoM.
-
Well done! You must have scored full marks for your sacs and folios, and just missed out on an A+ with your results.
I rushed my key; hand to hand draw and finished it in 3-4 minutes
Areas that I lost most of my marks would be:
- Shading 7.5/12
- Key 6.5/11
- Design exercise (not the logo, but the other one) 8.5/13
- All written (theory) task: 32/35
Then full or 1-2 marks lost for the rest of the questions
-
Yeah, I think those areas took up the most time too. I spent way too long on shading (knew I was doing a poor job but I kept going). Then, I spent about 5 minutes simply staring at the key, trying to figure it out. I was getting frustrated, wasting so much time without actually doing anything productive, so I moved on. I returned to it in the last 5 minutes, and was feeling pretty panicky, lol.
What was the other design exercise? The seaside cafe thing? Never applied colour to anything so fast in my life.
-
LOL. I also used colour excessivley in that design. i was like, 'red, red ,red!'
-
I HATE VCD!!!!!!!!!! FUCK YOU VCDDDDDDD
-
i got 44 raw! and 42 scaled.
A+ A+ A+
may i ask, roughly what unit 3 and 4 scores u got as a percentage?
-
I got 100% for unit 3, and hopefully will get something similar for my unit 4 folio. My drawing skills in the exam are gunna bring me down :(
