Hi all,
I would like to know the best text books for following,
physics
further maths
mathematical methods
special maths
-
Cambridge Essential for Methods! :)
-
Essentials is also the best for Spesh.
-
essentials for further too. I think. i haven't used it but the ones for methods and GMA are so good it should be the same for further.
-
Essentials may be good for the hard questions they have, but it fails at the explanations. If you're learning a new topic in any maths subject, it's best to start with Maths Quest; their explanations are clear and set out fabulously; and while you're doing the exercise, it very clearly signals whether it has a worked example to accompany it.
After you've mastered the basics that Maths Quest sets, then you can move on to the more challenging questions found in Essentials.

Heinemann
Essentials x 3

Definitely Heinamenn/Maths Quest for the examples and essentials for the questions
-
Personally, I find Heinemann crap for both Chemistry and Physics.

Seconded
Yeah. It has very bad questions and isn't in a very good format. Out of science text books, nature of biology is the best book i've come across.

My friend gave me his old Jacaranda physics book (1/2) and it beats the crap out of Heinemann (1/2).
My opinion, of course.

I like Jacaranda Physics and Essentials for the rest.
Also chuck in Burberry's Business Management notes for spesh.
