What kind of marks are you guys getting on practice exams atm? (Just so I know where I should be at :) )

Im averaging 75% for my practice exams. I haven't been concentrating that hard on the exams though, i've been focusing on all the sacs they just have to give us right before exams...

im also in the 70, few eighties and a VERY RARE 90..

Averaged 60s for the three stavs I've done and 80s for the four Insights.

Remember, these are mostly company exams that are designed to be harder than the actual thing :) So don't panic yet!

Getting between 80 -95%, with 90s for the last 3 VCAA exams. Happy studying :)

I have done a heap and my marks vary from like 65% with lisachem/neap up to 85% with VCAA.
honestly, i have no idea what to expect.

yea i feel as though doing more prac exams isnt having a very strong effect since im still ranging the same each time. i have done up to the same amount bout 20 and stupid marks, mistakes, same crap on calculation questions. i like AOS2 much better than 1

Got an average of around 92-3 for the 16 exams or so I've done. Probably going to focus more on my physics exam since I feel as if I'm better at it.

insight and neap 2011 were easy, so was vcaa 2008
lisachem 2011 and past neap papers were extremely painful!

If I get < 90% I'm not happy...
... I think everyone has their own "A" and "A+" standards though... I don't find it demotivating though, it makes me want to do more so I can crack those high 90's and 100's :)

yep apparently so. they predict that this years will be similar to 2009, which is appparently hard, and A+ was only a 78 so...

Guys, don't be worried if there is a hard exam - so long as it isn't dodgy.
It means that there's more scope for making careless mistakes AND the examiners are more likely to be lenient with marking. And remember, it's how you do against the rest of the state - so if you get say 64% in the VCAA 2011 exam, but 64% was the top mark in the state, then you should be over the moon :D

true. i guess then thats because your good at chem. chem isnt my strongest and i definitely have weaknesses so anything b/w 75+ and im content.. honestly
psych is my better subject so i always look for over 90, nothing less so yeah depends

I'd like to wish you all good luck. I'll try be extra on the ball in the next couple of days with questions that I can answer (keep in mind I've got exams!).
Best of luck, make sure you revise over your errors in the next couple of days, and finish off any VCAA past exams available to you!

lol, kinda regret that post, it was just a personal grading system for myself, not everyone. Sorry for any demotivation caused :( If I'm unhappy with a 85-90%, that will make me want to work harder for a better score. If I'm happy with a 90%, I'll be unlikely to improve much, thats my theory.

I'm in limbo, after 25 exams I'm get 80-95%, VCAA 08 was the first exam i did before any prep scrapped an A+(90%), VCAA 09 scrapped an A+(80%)(2weeks ago) redid it today for 92% and VCAA 10 tomorrow :)

I just did Insight 2011, that was incredibly straightforward. Managed 92%

Not sure about everyone else, but averaging about 85% over 21 exams, although LisaChem 2011 was my worst at 52%, but thats what happens when you do it after school 10 mins after a methods sac. I made a spreadsheet to keep track of everything (attached). have a look if you want, but you can actually see the improvement in MC. probably a bit late now but anyone can use it as a template if they want to. just clear out the values in the actual column, its set to add up the rest and calculate % for each exam.

i got shit for IT last year, so my top 4 is going to be seriously compromised.
I guess i've failed vce now, ill put my best in the 39 or so hours remaining, hopefully chem exam is as hard as i can handle, and i drop no sillies on accounting..

i got shit for IT last year, so my top 4 is going to be seriously compromised.
I guess i've failed vce now, ill put my best in the 39 or so hours remaining, hopefully chem exam is as hard as i can handle, and i drop no sillies on accounting..

Did it actually help? Reading over those TSFX notes? I've got my stack sitting on my table atm and haven't opened them since the lecture... which probably is the silliest thing to do considering I just completely wasted my time not going over the notes after the lecture... anyway, that's besides the point. Did you find them helpful at all? Trying to pull together some sort of cramming schedule... hahaha.

Yep it helped a lot! They're really good for cramming coz all the notes are condensed and understandable. Coz last year for bio, all I did was read those notes and I got an A+ for the exam. So its pretty good. Just read it from cover to cover and you should be good. :)
