Title: Analogue Signals
Post by: thatricksta on June 08, 2011, 06:33:12 pm
Do we need to know about Analogue signals in AOS 2 (electricity)?

I just did NEAP exam 2010 which suggests we do.
This was part of the core electricity component.

Thanks :)

Yes it's a fairly large part of the course... you should know about modulation and AC's.

Glad our teacher went over it in that case.
I know about modulations and all but the question asks
"Explain what is meant by the term 'analogue system'"

What im asking , is do we need to know how to explain something like this?

Sorry I didn't really know how to ask my question haha

I think analogue is where the carrier wave is modulated to directly represent the shape of the input wave, whereas digital is where the carrier wave is switched one and off to represent the necessary information.

What can they ask us about ACs? I hardly come across them D:
