How do I do any part of question 6?
-
well..
look at the Rt for the wine.
think about what makes up wine.
then read the question carefully again ;)
-
^ethanol, and then differ by a -ch2- going up
graph should be easy as to draw (read values from given spreadsheet)
then read the % from the graph

Why can't alkanol 1 be methanol?

Congratulations, you have just won a million dollars.

Why can't alkanol 1 be methanol?
because the main alkanol in wine is ethanol
alkanol 1 has the same Rt value as the wine.
therefore it is ethanol

You can't drink methanol ;) Our Chemistry teacher flipped out at all the students that wrote methanol in the trial exam.
