Title: 45 Study Score in English?!
Post by: psych93 on July 01, 2011, 04:35:18 pm
My teacher says that I'm a really good writer but I get too caught up in trying to make my work sound pretty that I don't actually tick the criteria, and hence my skills aren't accurately reflected in my SAC results.
This semester I achieved a 83/100 which I'm shattered about.... but if I get 100/100 next semester and do really well on the exam (eg. 55/60) will I be looking at around a 45? Or are my chances of getting 45 completely ruined? :(

I don't think they are ruined, but I think you may need a higher exam score. Everything between 45-50 in english is more luck than anything anyway.

Anything above 55/60 on the exam should get you a 44 or 45 atleast, assuming you've got decent SAC marks. I got a 44 with 54/60 on the exam.

No your chances are fine if you can adapt your style to suit VCE. There is AN element of luck, but with 6 different examiners, there is A LOT you can do to make sure you get the marks you deserve - a lot of luck is hard-earned luck.
