Hi guys,
In the Physics textbook we use at school (Nelson) it says that the maximum EMF generated in a generator is given by NBA2pif.
Today our teacher told us that VCAA prefer students to consider a quarter or half turn and calculate the EMF according to Faraday's law.
These give different answers.
Can anyone explain to me what the difference is.

They should give the same answer.
VCAA prefer you to use what is in the study design, eg the method you describe. However they *cannot* penalise you for using alternative methods.

I had the exact same dilemma a little while ago.

and I still do not have an answer as to which one is "correct". But for now, I'm going to stick with the scientifically correct one. If they mark me wrong on the basis that I'm scientifically correct, then shame on VCAA. :P

actually, the one I'm thinking of that's the same has a 4 in it.
Maybe 4 instead of 2pi. I don't remember no pies.

Given that I have not seen this one outside this forum, I'd say only use the other one.
Also, sorry for accidently modifying your post there, I fail at the extra buttons available to me.
