Title: Social Responsibility
Post by: elaine on November 13, 2007, 02:43:36 pm
Does anyone have a really solid definition for social responsibility and total quality management?

And does anyone have a good change management example for an Australian organisation? I only have Nike.

Thanks!

Socially responsibility refers to the obligations a company has to the society outside the law.

Total Quality Management is a quality system that has the following features:
-continuous improvement
- teamwork and employee participation
- customer satifaction

For which change issue are you looking for??
Privatisation-Telstra
Acquisition-Quiksilver
Technology- Australia Post, Car companies
Mergers- SPC and Ardmona
Globalisation- Telecommunications companies

I've done a few change issues, so i'll see how i go on the exam :P

Business ethics is the way in which people in an organisation conduct their day-to-day work in terms of morals and values.

Social responisibility is the way an organisation demonstrates some commitment to their community beond that imposed on it by laws.

Corporate social responsibility is a combination of business ethics and social responsibility incorporating putting values and priciples into practice by means of policies and practices.

Hope that helps :)

lol so it's not just my stupid school that puts yr 11 exams at the same time as yr 12 exams.
seriously- out of all the weeks they can put them, it just has to be this week. it's like completing a marathon before the real race that counts.

enjoy your day off- happy cramming :)

If you ask me anything outside of the exam room, I know nothing.

how did you guys go timing wise?
i did the 2006 exam and i only just finished! but i did the 2005 exam and it took me just over an hour.
hopefully it'll be like the 2005 exam.
and where do you find the time to do 10 practice exams?
don't you have other subjects lol

On the flipside, I've done 10 for chemistry and 45 for methods. Go figure. No marks for guessing my weakest subject.

you're joking right. 45 PRACTICE EXAMS!!! i'd go insane lol.

I edited my original post because I got told it sounded fobby.

No, our class just finished the course early August, and we all bought a pack of 82 exams.

I sacrifice English and BM. I can't be bothered anymore, it just all comes out when I need it to, so meh.

I know what you mean! When I'm under pressure during a SAC, I'm able to come up with some really good definitions just from the top of my head, not memory. The pressure seems to help my performance, for that subject at least.

I like you.

I struggle when I enter an exam room confident, and excel when I think I've failed.

It's weird. But it works, so I think VCAA 2003-2006 will be enough for me the next three days. Knowing me, I remember exam answers, so if everything goes right...

I'll simply regurgitate rote-learned answers! (and apply to the question of course, but it works for Chem anyway)

what? i didn't mean to make you out as a fob, i was merely astounded lol.
45 practice exams can only mean you get an awesome score.  :)

man you finished early august! that's so unfair, i wish our school did that. that's 4 more months than what we get! which school do you go to?

No, not directed at you. Someone is reading my posts and commenting over MSN.

I'd better get an awesome score, or I will recycle my exam pack in anger assuming FSN doesn't want a bit of it.

Comparatively, I've excelled in methods, considering I'm averaging C+ SACs. But don't let that fool you - I'm no methods dud lol. VCAA are going to get a nasty surprise when they try to moderate this hodge-podge of results.
We'll see how far up they'll take that C+...

As for school, here's a hint. The M stands for Melbourne. :P

that's hilarious- recycling your papers- oh no that's so cruel!

i should've tried out for macrob if i had known you guys finish in august!

Yeah when i did the 2006 VCAA exam I finished like 10 mins early... with other exams I finish about 20-30 mins early, which gives me time to look over everything...

Btw everyone just a few tips that have worked for me:
-Use reading time wisely
-Keep your answers clear and simple (don't over do it and don't sugar coat)
-Know some examples, for each area of management
-Make sure you know what they mean when they ask for strategies
-Oh read each question carefully; you'll be surprised how many students write great answers, that don't even relate to the question
-Don't confuse roles and skills

That's about it really

Good luck everyone :)

great tips. :D  but what do you mean by "do not suger coat answers" ? lol

I can just imagine-

Lol, just try to keep your answers concise, to over do it, don't add any irrelevant information, stick to the question. :)
