Software Development - 40

lets change it up a little lets make it what you wanted to get at the start of the year and what you think you will get now
Economics = didnt know what to expect with this as i didnt do units 1 & 2 i realise i will only get 20ish lol
Accounting = had high expectations at the start of the year was aiming for 40+ but much anger and frustration at teacher has caused me to believe i'll get 32ish
Further Maths = wanted around 42 i still believe i can get that
English = wanted around 37 fairly confident i'll achieve that
Media = wanted 40ish but now believe i can get 45+ this will clearly be my best subject
-
English: Wanted minimum 40, think I can get that, ideally 42+
Economics: Start of year wanted around 37, now I think I am pretty well placed compared to most people so wanting min 40
Accounting: Wanted min 40 and after healthy mid year mark, 42+ would be great
Further: Wanted 42+ but now a 36+ would do, I prioritise elsewhere
Business: Wanted 43, if I do good revision leading up the the exam I think I can get that. Otherwise 39+
-
esl - at the start of the year, 47. still want 47, still think i can get 47.
further - start: 50...stuffed up my sacs a bit, but apparently it doesnt matter as much at my school lol. just got to make sure i dont stuff up exams, so still possible.
BM - start: 45+. done alright on my sacs so far and i reckon its a fairly easy subject so still think i can get that.
methods: start: 40+ raw. stuffed up only sac big time, still got one more to go. thinking 38 now.
chem: start: 40+. mid year exam = C+. thinking 32 now haha.
that gets me an ENTER of like 98.75
-
At start of year my aims were:
Psych- 45+
Eng- 45+
Maths- 38+
Vis Com- 45+
Legal- 45+
Now.....
Psych- 40+
Eng- 42
Vis Com- 45
Maths- Happy with over 35
Legal- Over 40, 44 :)
-
English: start: 30 , after a very good last SAC but bad C+ in unit 3, hopefully around 32-33 if I do well on the exam.
ITA: start: 35, after o.k SAC's, maybe a 30-33.
MM: Hoping to get very good marks as MATHS is what I love, around 43-47.
Spec Maths: Again going to be one of my favourite subjects next year, around 44-48.
Physics: A very very good subject, very interesting and I am good at it with little work. Around 40-44.
MUEP Maths: Love a challenge, 5.5 increment achievable.
ENTER: 93.2-96.5 *hoping for 95.5*
note: all scores are scaled!
-
I remember at school before we applied to VTAC we were supposed to make a list of our predictions. Mine went something like:
Econ: 45+
Psych: 45+
Lit: 40+
Methods: 35-40
UMEP: 4-5 increment
(to check accuracy/inaccuracy, look at sig)
You should all come back to this thread once you've gotten your scores, it's rather amusing to compare your predictions with reality.

English: Wanted 35, but have performed better than expected - now aiming for a 37-38
Business: Wanted 40, now aiming for 43-45
IT:Applications: Wanted 39, I am now aiming for 40-42
Studio Arts: Wanted 37, still would be happy with that - aiming for a 39
Further Maths: Wanted 36, now aiming for 38-42
-
mine goes along the lines of:
legal: at the start of year i was intimidated by the number of people saying how hard it is to do good, so i limited myself to a score of around 37. Now i think i can get 42+ if i can do good on the the exam.
vis comm: start of year i was hoping for over 33 now i think i can get over 43 if i can do good on the exam.
English : next year hoping for a 38ish
methods: hoping for 33ish
chemistry: hoping for a 33ish
university extension philosophy of science if i can get in. 4+
or
business management : 40+ maybe.
-
Business: Wanted 40, now aiming for 43-45*
*typo: 50
-
Start of Yr: Now:
English 34 37 Doing reasonable well
Methods 33 27 Going to almost fail SAC tomorrow
French 30 25 Fail at oral
Biology 40 40 Actually still doing well
Music 35 30 Still haven't learnt modes, fail at aural, must ace performance
ENTER= 91.50 90.30
-
Still haven't learnt modes
You could really learn those a few days before and the exam and get them all right. Aural is a small component compared to the analysis. How are you at that?

Hmm ok I guess. Depends on which critirea is on, some like articulation I suck at doing. Tone colour I love etc. Pretty good with my perscribed analysis though.

then now
english 42 38
int studies 38 38
media 47 35
legal 43 37
lol

Hehe, yay, I love these sorts of threads!
Start of Year 12 At This Moment
English: 30 (just wanted to pass) 41 (yeah, big change, A+ in my SAC's... But the exam will ruin me :()
Methods: 35 (I thought I could do it) 20 (I just want to pass... D+'s are not good :'()
Italian: 25 (no chance) 38 (I won't get it, I just have an inkling about this number ;))
Specialist: 35 (all maths are the same, right?) 21 (hehe, I'm getting C's... 1 better than D+ :()
Legal: 35 (meh, lawyers need to do it) 45 (I woke up, A+ in every SAC, basically memorised everything)
ENTER: 85.95 91.25
(Using Daniel's calculator ;))
I guess it hasn't changed too much, but I should have never chosen maths, I just feel so inadequate :(
-
English: Wanted around 35, but now believe i can get around 38.
Further Maths: Was aiming for a 33, now believe i can get around 42 because its so easy.
Psych: Was aiming for 45+, but not believe i will only get 40-41 if i get an A+ in end of year.
Media: Was aiming for 45+. At this stage everything is up in the air (we don't get our SAC marks), so could get around 40-43
History: Wanted around 35, but not believe i can get 38-39.
-
I think I was sleeping at the beginning of the year.
English: wanted 45+ (bahahaha) now thinking of 30-35 (the C+ in SAC1 really got to me, although the following SACs were better - thank god)
Maths - wanted 35, now looking at 30 (with my awesome B/B+ average!)
Politics - wanted 40+, now looking at mid to high 30's
Literature - wanted 41/2, now looking at high 30's (maybe... hoping to get 40)
Renaissance - wanted a 40, and have done surprisingly well in SACs so maybe 40+ if I do well in following SACs and do awesome on the exam.
-
Maths - wanted 35, now looking at 30 (with my awesome B/B+ average!)
I envy your average :P
-
Maths - wanted 35, now looking at 30 (with my awesome B/B+ average!)
I envy your average :P
Heh. I got a D in my first SAC (53%). I cried in the bathroom after getting the mark and then at parent-teacher interviews. Before year 12, I was a straight A+ student in maths. Yeh... not so great. Oh well.
-
While on averages I'll add them in too
English A+
Accounting A+
Economics A+/A (Unit 3 93/100 so probably more of an A+ lol...)
Business Management A+/A (probably a high A)
Further Maths B+/B (probably more-so a B)
-
English: wanted 40 at the start of the year, now bout 42ish
Legal: wanted about 45 but have to set my sights at around 41
Psych: wanted a solid 42, probably going to get that (unit 4 shall ruin me)
Further: wanted a 40, but havn't turned up to enough classes to get that- 35 would be fine
Methods: wanted about 35- going to get about that AND HOPEFULLY do better in methods then further
ENTER: wanted 95- now 95. lolZ
-
My averages too... !!!
Psych A+.... SACS are A+ but A on the midyear (missed the A+ by 0.5 marks =/ maximum A)
English A+ ...
Methods A ...
Chem C ... lol dont really work
-
Only 4 subjects?
-
Maths - wanted 35, now looking at 30 (with my awesome B/B+ average!)
I envy your average :P

I feel your pain. My first SAC score was actually an E+... :'(. I think I cried for days or something. Then it led me to believe that when I got a D+ it was a sign from God... Until I kept getting that average and never improved... But never declined either... But still never improved :(
-
What Lote did you do?
-
Awww, I remember working out my score. I was right within 0.05 of my final ENTER, but I was way off in some subjects. I think I expected something like this:
English: 45
Spec: 45
French: 40
Music: 35
UMEP Maths: 5 (75 or so)
Meh, it all balanced out...
-
At the start of the year:
English: 45
Methods: 35
Psych: 45
P.E: 45
Biology: 40
Aaaaand NOW:
English: 38
Methods: 30
Psych: 48
P.E: 46-48
Biology: 35
98 probably no longer possible! :(
-
Initially...
English: 40+
French: 36
Bio: 38
Chem: 36
Methods: 37
Little did I know that my perception was so.... distorted :P
Now
English: I think I can manage 43-45
French: 34...I'm just careless and I still haven't finished my oral :/
Bio: 34, too much to remember ;O;
Chem: 32, i'd actually be happy with that cuz I'm lacking in logic :D
Methods: 25-28... 53.75% average :P I think I can cram it for the exams and hopefully work a miracle!
-
My predictions now compared with the start of the year have not changed too much:
Physics: 45 managed to get an A+ on midyear :)
English: 45+
Methods 45+
Spec: 40+
Eco: 40+
It will be interesting to see how accurate these predictions are!
-
intially
english: 30
methods: 30
chemistry: 35
biology: 35
p.e.: 40
prediction: 84.85
now
english:30

chemistry:38 (mid year exam result better than expected)
biology:37 (mid year exam result better than expected)
p.e.:25 (i haven't opened the book all semester, and in class all everyone does is talk..we literally do nothing productive!)
prediction:85.40
=] hahaha, i never had high expectations...laziness always gets the better of me =]

I really hope everyone's predictions come true! (Unless of course, your prediction is lower than you expect, which in that case, I hope your prediction does not come true :P)
-
initially
english: 40+

psych: 40+

psych: 40+
history: 36+
I hope to be pleasantly surprised in the end and not disappointed. :(
-
^
Aww... I think you will do well, if you just believe in yourself and have the motivation :)
-
I'm too scared to make predictions, I'll just end up disappointing myself. Though last year I predicted early 40's for Psych, and I got 41.

Errr.. Slightly better than I thought I'd do at the start.
Enter of around 90ish would be nice.

Meh, new predictions with exam consideration:
English: 35 (exam will kill me :()
Legal: 35 (not going to change it now)
Italian: 38 (I really want to do well in this subject :'()
Methods: 19 (as someone had already previously predicted somewhere :))
Specialist: 20 (1 higher than Methods)
Psych: 30 (from last year)
ENTER: 80.95 (that is still pretty damn good... Considering maths and all :). I would be happy with that!)
-
i highly doubt you will get 19 for methods without looking at your situation... unless your like failing everything and just go to the exam and fluke just pass or something, doubt 19 ... thats prob just what u think like i was thinking but dont think everyone is that good at methods lots of ppl struggles at it and so ppl get closer to 30
-
Lol, I'm just managing D's and E+'s in methods... My highest was a D+ (just), and my lowest was an E, 1 mark away from a UG (that was my first SAC :() On the exams, I highly doubt I will improve. I may even get a UG on one because I am prone to getting, at most, 2 marks below what I would usually get in SAC's. Let's not even talk about specialist :(
-
haha you should of seen my sacs like lets say i did 6 not sure now... i failed like 4 of them had to redo them and like just passed 2 of them. and i was like im gonna suck in the exam and i did pretty shit but ok... so you wouldnt get a 19 like 19 you would seriously have to fail everything and prob write an answer to a question on the exam... so yeah its not a 19 i will bet you its not 19.
-
But surely a 19 is around 3 E's? If it is... Well... That's pretty much my destiny :(. I'm glad maths is the only subject I'm failing... I can feel your pain, Stefanos. :(
-
Realistic view on it:
Here is the 2007 grade distribution http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/vce/statistics/2007/section3/vce_math_methods_ga07.pdf
On exam 1, if you get 3/40 or better than you have beaten 11% of the state in that exam
On exam 2, 9/80 or better puts you better than 16% of people
To get 20 or lower you as a study score you are in bottom 9%
If you are posting on a VCE site, you have the motivation to do better than that :D
-
I would actually predict around 25 or so in Methods. It's not difficult to get above 20 as long as you attempt the thing and try to pick up the easy marks you can get (I'm going to start a thread on this now).
-
Hmm, i haven't posted in this thread yet ....I thought i did :P lolz
Anyways...
Initially:
English - 38
Methods - 38
Further - 48
Specialist - 35
Accounting - 50 :P
Chinese - 30
Currently:
English - 35
Methods - 40
Further - 48
Specialist - 25 :P oooops lolz
Accounting - 42 :(
Chinese - 28
Hmm...not a very big difference...except for accounting </3 :(
Hopefully i'll get an enter of around 95+

I would seriously be over the moon with a 25 in Methods! Thanks for lifting my spirit Eriny, and also Caramel!
-
I'll try and predict some study scores :D
Biology:
Midyear - A
SACs - A+ average, ranked 3rd
=38ish probably
Psychology:
Midyear: A+
SACs - A+ average, ranked equal 1st
=45
Literature:
SACs: A+ average, ranked 2nd now.
=40 ish?
