Title: VN Ads
Post by: costargh on August 25, 2008, 05:17:52 pm
How often on average do you click on the ads on VCENotes?

I used to have Adblock but now I don't and I usually click on the ads daily or every 2nd day.

The only reason I even know there are ads is because it's been mentioned before. I can't even see them to click them (yay Adblock Plus + EasyList filters)

Hah, all it'll take now is for someone to report this thread to the ad serving agency to shut it down for click fraud...

Oooo...blocking XSS in JavaScript, using NoScript in Firefox, will probably prevent money going into enwiabe's pocket :P...and it's something you should block to ensure your browser's safety on the web (XSS = Cross-Site Scripting which is implicated in a lot of exploits and attacks)

(These ads are paid per thousand impressions)

MAO :(

Why do you have to be so harsh?  :(

:(:(:(

As Jeff Kennett used to say "Such is life". :P

im not being harsh man, admit it.

enwiabe has done an excellent job, put much time and effort in for this place. but this place will not be what it is today without the people on it.

if ads money is a reward, I do believe Dan15 [who had done SO much] and pioneers such as Ahmad and coblin should also be rewarded.

this place has much potential to be developed on. right now, money into the pocket is not the best idea if this place is to expand and become something more.

Yeh, no one means any disrespect to enwiabe. We all know running this site, getting it started etc is/was a tough job. And the site looks ok now, but change is good thing for a business and if that means outsourcing some of the tasks for the site to gain a more professional look/feel then it should be commended (permitting the funds allow it)

Thanks Mao, but I'm a volunteer. I take an indirect form of revenue by probably being the most successful advertiser on this website. Many people contact me, probably through my signature, rather than looking at the Tutoring board.

If you guys keep putting stuff like 'dating' etc. in the posts, that's what Adbrite will serve up. Adbrite is far more limited and won't serve education ads, so yeah. The major advantage is that adbrite has CPM stuff which means money without clicking.

King County sheriff's office investigating possible animal abuse
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

SEATTLE -- King County sheriff's detectives are investigating possible animal cruelty at a farm near Enumclaw that apparently has attracted "a significant number of people" to have sex with animals, a sheriff's spokesman said Thursday.

The investigation was launched this month after authorities discovered the July 2 death of a man who suffered internal bleeding after engaging in anal sex with a horse at the farm, Sgt. John Urquhart said.

Authorities are not releasing the man's identity because the King County medical examiner has ruled his death accidental. The victim was in his 40s, Urquhart said.

Investigators have interviewed several people in connection with the case, which was brought to authorities' attention after the man was dropped off at a hospital for medical treatment. A surveillance camera picked up the license plate of the car, which led sheriff's detectives to the farm and other people involved, Urquhart said.

Bestiality is not illegal in Washington state.

"Just sex with an animal per se, you'd have to prove some sort of animal cruelty out of that and that's why we've got more investigating to do," Urquhart said.

"A significant number of people, we believe, have likely visited this farm," he said, declining to specify a number while the investigation continues.

The Humane Society of the United States intends to use the case during the next state legislative session as an example of why sex with animals should be outlawed in Washington, said Bob Reder, a Humane Society regional director in Seattle.

"This and a few other cases that we have will allow us a platform to talk about sex abuse of animals," Reder said.

Thirty-three states have laws banning sex with animals, he said.

I hope I have contributed to the high standard of banner ads as well 0:)
