I'm now, however, more interested in the business side of things and, hopefully, will start my own IT consulting/outsourcing firm in the future, hence the commerce degree.

+ You have to write alot which i'm hella bad at. :p (unless computers are used, then its a different ballgame LOL)

lol, I dunno, I find it hard to score in bus. man because it's just so subjective. I even get higher English marks :p (english is cool in that sense :p)

I'm more of Math/Sci person. :p

It's just a shame that so many people do business management for the wrong reasons, they just do it because its easy or because there are no other options, not because they actually have an interest in the subject..

No way! Management may be crap, but how about economics? Finance?

Accounting or actuarial studies? I'm not going to do a single management subject (except the compulsory one) because I also think it is boring, but it didn't rule out commerce for me :)

I really don't like bus. man and management due to its dryness. But, I love economics, finance, accounting and especially actuarial studies!

With commerce, the world is your oyster. It's not restricted to management solely.

+ You can work at the most prestigious corporations and earn a decent salary with it. This does not include management. UBS, Citigroup, IAG, CommInsurance (CommBank), Southcorp, Goldman Sachs, PwC, KPMG, E&Y, Deloitte and many others are all in your reach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I overheard a post in an forum that a guy who works in CommBank (CommInsure div) as an actuary and earned a whopping $300,000 Base pay + $1 million in Employee Share options!

Also, there was a article that a IBer (investment banker) earned $300million in bonuses after securing a deal for Goldman Sachs. 8) 8)

Just goes to show, management is merely one section of commerce. There is so many other opportunities. Boy... Do I like thinking about em. ;)

Lol, good point, I don't know anything about economics or finance ... I guess it's a bit too late to find out lol. I have my heart set on either Medicine - for personal reasons - or international law - cos I absolutely love international studies atm.

But who knows .... apparently ppl change careers several times on average in their lives anyways
