so we are doing john kinsella for poetry, and i dont get it at all. the only poem i understand is wild radishes. is anyone else doing kinsella? and if i could get some advice on how to actually prepare for this section of the exam, would be much appreciated!

What I'm doing for Kinsella is annotating the heck out of them and forming various intepretations for different sets of poems. Basically he's all about the destruction fo the landscape and how much farming and industry in the natural landscape sucks. He's complex, yes but if you do a bunch of background reading on him and really read into his work (don't be afraid of over analysing!! Kinsella is a nut case!) and do lots and lots of practice essays. Also, take note of recurring images in his poetry, generally they'll mean something.
And pray the First Essay won't be chosen for the exam. lol
Hope this helps :)
