Internet meme..umm to answer your question you should aim for deakin and when you fall short of such lofty heights begin a corporate takeover of BHP so you can become a mining magnate and rule the city of jakarta for 7 years and 11 days, but you must find the jade monkey before the next full moon! :)

Different ranking systems do it differently, but generally its about the research the academic staff do, how often they're cited, that kind of thing. I think teaching is taken into account, but it's not solely based on teaching as far as I know. It doesn't affect the quality of undergraduate education a whole lot, though it may affect how the university (and thus a degree from the university) is widely perceived.

Melbourne is still considered to be "the best" (whatever that means) in Victoria, if that makes a difference.
