Title: The Inevitable ENTER Prediction Thread
Post by: Ahmad on November 20, 2007, 03:30:31 pm
The idea for this thread was brought up on IRC. Here you estimate your ENTER along with raw subject scores (optional). Whoever gets closest to their actual ENTER wins.

Happy guessing.

My estimated aggregate comes to 178.7 which is low 96 (provided I get 44 in english  :P, wishful thinking maybe). If I knock it down a peg it comes to 176.7.

Taking a guess I'll say 95.50

Well my ultimate enter would be like a 98 realistically but i think im more likely to get around a 96.50
I predict (RAW):

Legal - 48 (know)
Accounting - 41
English - 40
Economics - 40
Biology - 36
Methods - 27

So thats my prediction - lets see who wins come 17/12!!

I don't want to sound arrogant etc :(

Chem - 48
Chinese - 35
Physics - 46
Spec - 43

English I have no idea, and will probably destroy the rest of them ^_^ I'd like to say 40+ but I'm not sure if thats possible =/
so 99+ if I get 35+ in english

I'm not sure I've gone as well as I could have this year; I started off well but got mucked around in all but one of my subjects (one teacher was away more than 20% of classes, I kept pushing for them but only received about 17 out of the 30+ response sheets we were supposed to get for EL worksets, I probably taught the music class half the course and Spesh didn't start giving us regular lessons until quite a few weeks into term 1 which resulted in me having to swap out :(). And guys, if you ever have kids, do them a favour and don't do renos during yr 12 lol.

So yeah, I'm just going to leave it wait until results come out, because I'm really not sure how I've done. I still expect in the 90s, but I have no idea how high.

Haha, at least that was your choice.

Well it's not 99 that's for sure!
They do take it into account... I know Monash had something around 85 for a BMus/Ed, because I asked them. It's not something they really release for music, unlike most other courses. Probably because it's fairly flexible due to the other requirements.

hey akira, no offence, but even your first prediction wasnt enough to get u med based on enter alone cos your aggregate works out to be like 195.5 (assuming 35 in english). It sucks cos one of ure 50's wont count.

Although in ure case u had a good umat so its ok.

Really?? I knew someone who got in [at Melb] with 99, which you would get with 45s and 35 in English.

Also, Ahmad's modesty is legendary -even if you get a lower score than him,  it'll be higher than his predictions.

Ok, my predictions:

50 in my top 4 subjects and 36 in music solo. =D
That means ENTER of 99.7!

On a more serious notes,

English           - 36 to 40
Accounting        - 43 to 45
Further Maths    - 42 to 43
Methods            - 30 to 32
Music Solo('06)  - 36 to 36

Aggregate: ~ 160.2 to 169.3

ENTER: 89.75 to 93.55

Somewhere in between there =)

Taken on everyone's advice/predictions:

English: 35-38
Chem: 43-46
Chinese: 40-47 (nooo idea how to tell)
Methods: 44 (last year)
Physics: 42-45
Spesh: 44-46

So that's a 98.65~99.55, but anything above a 98.50 is a bonus for me =D

Yeah, I started VCE with an expectation of around 95, but thought that could still be a challenge for me. Eventually, that bar lifted all the way up to 98, with an expectation I would do better than it: and a aim of 99.

So to make my mark on this thread: I bet I'll get 99.00  ;D

Hoping to get a 99, that would be sweet

According to this enter calculator

06                               Raw                Scaled
Chinese                        45                    51
R&S                             35                    35

07
English Language         35 - 38            36 - 39.6
Methods                    43 - 46           46.8 - 48.4
Chem                         42 - 46          45.6 - 48.4
Bio                            43 - 47            44 - 47.6

ENTER = 98.15 - 99.15

Wanted to get into med but the UMAT pawned me but saying that would be absolutely rapt to get anything above 99

sigh, i had to take down my hopes a notch from 99.10 down to about 98.50. ah well, here's hoping the family will forget the eternal asian shame of a sub-99 score hahaha.

Not to mention the shame of getting less than a mid-99 score... and the shame of not getting 99.95.

And the occasional parent that shuns you for not getting 100, LOL. "Why you lose 0.05 points for?!!?!"

Not really sure though... Whatever happens happens :)

And I definitely agree there, we're not all super-smart. I'm just an average person ;)

I was hoping for mid-low 99's like 99.30
But methods 2 and lit I think might have brought that down to borderline
99.00ish.
I wouldn't mind seeing an analysis of FSN'ners scores like they do it for the schools. We can probably beat MacRob. ;)

Are you going by ENTERs or raw study scores? Cos the latter approach is flawed

The "rankings". If in one schools cohort there are 50 spec students and 10 further students and it's the other way round for another school, you can't compare them using raw scores, n'est-ce pas?

    I got 99.15  Lang -43
                      Fre   -46
                      Revs -46
                      Meth -38

                     Solo -36
                      Biol -34

I don't want to sound arrogant etc :(

Chem - 48
Chinese - 35
Physics - 46
Spec - 43

English I have no idea, and will probably destroy the rest of them ^_^ I'd like to say 40+ but I'm not sure if thats possible =/
so 99+ if I get 35+ in english

Got spesh right =D

My estimated aggregate comes to 178.7 which is low 96 (provided I get 44 in english  :P, wishful thinking maybe). If I knock it down a peg it comes to 176.7.

Taking a guess I'll say 95.50

So so wrong.

91.95

My brother beats you all hands down
Yesterday he successfully predicted every single study score
31 chem
33 physics
30 english
43 further
27 biol
---------
31 methods (06)

IMO thats insane that he predicted them all.
He said ENTER in the 83's and he got that lol
