Im yet to do any context or analysis practise essays, and havnt read the context novel. Man i need to turn my pc off n start some work

I'm pretty screwed for english. Got a 15/30 on the only practice exam I did, and my essays are terrible. I know the texts really well (Richard III and Catcher in the Rye), I just can't write an essay to save myself. Plus I was never good at Analysis. I'm thinking of maybe doing one more essay of each and just winging it on the exam after that. Maybe memorise a few Richard quotes, but that's it. What about you guys?

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you are, I'm fucking shit at English, and I'm dreading the exam :S.
-
I had a dream that we had to analyse 3 full paged articles with this weird advertisement type picture which had kitten drowning in a strawberry milkshake. I woke up almost in tears because if we really got something like that...we'd all be screwed. Lol.
I'm also dreading it, especially lang analysis because I guess that's the one least in our control. ARGH.
-
I'm feeling confident in the amount of practice i have done, but till very nervous because the date of the exam has really crept up on us all i think. I've been getting the 9-10 bracket for all the practice pieces i've been doing, but am still scared that i'll get difficult questions and it will ruin all the practice i've been doing :( I am hoping for very specific questions, particulary for 'A Man for all Seasons' and Context. Issues is anybodies game, but i'm just hoping it's something that i have an interest in, because it makes it so much easier to write about it.

Yeah similar position for me too. Only did one practice exam which was compulsory at school which I really screwed hard.

Oh wow so the dreams are already kicking in for you? I don't think I'm going to stress out about it that much TBH. I just know I'm going to do shit and at this point there isn't much I can do about it (yeh write a few essays.. i get it). I'm going to *try* to dedicate next week to just English, but I think that will get old fast. Spec/Physics/IT practice exams might creep into the mix and before you know it I'll have given up on English again.
Kittens drowning in milkshakes? Must have been a terrible dream for you, but hilarious for me to read. I think that would be fantastic to write on. Everything would be so clear, plus I always do better when I'm faced with epic lulz.

Amnesiac, what GA GA GA marks did you get for visual communication and design and if you know the statement of marks for the exam along with your ranking, plus your skill in it as well :D
thanks, sorry for all the questions but we're so nearing exam time i need to know what's the minimum i can get on the exam to achieve a high study score, i.e. over 40. I'm ranked first btw so it all depends on the exam.

Man, i have been writing heaps....
Except no one can be fked giving me any feedback on where i can improve.
I cant do it on here, because that wud mean typing up my essays again which is too time consuming.
And when i scan attachments, i cant post it properly.
Does anyone know a good one-one tutor i can use in the last few days?
-
dont know where to post this, and i didn't want to create an entirely new topic...
but how much do SACs really count towards your study score?
for example, say i was ranked first and assume someone in my year does get a high A+. if i get a B+/A on the exam, am i still looking at a 40+ score?

Hey hard, i believe i've had this conversation with you before (under my old username of mike_the_tsar007) but i will tell you again lol.
I recieved A A+ B+ = 37
I loved VCD but was in year 11 when i did it. Overall, i think i had a natural ability in it (i don't mean to sound stuck up, but i won the major award for it which was sponsored by a graphic design company.) I didn't get a statement of marks or anything because i didn't know about that last year, but before the exam i was ranked about 3rd or 4th. I studied a lot for the exam and had a private tutor who was a good family friend. I think the main reason that i got a B+ was because i was an inexperienced year 11 completing my first year 12 exam. I was really nervous, and i don't think i studied the right material. Nevertheless, since you have obviously gone well in your folios, i would suggest studying your ass off for the exam. It means everything because a lot of people give up and don't put in the effort. Also, a lot of students go very well because it isn't a very hard exam, so you need to give the examiners something that will get you to the top of the state.
Hope that helps. In essence, just be sure of your answers and abilities to draw in a technicle manner and you'll be fine.
