Title: materials to bring into oral exam

Can you bring materials into the oral exam to support your performance? for example, an a3 poster or pages of a4 paper with pictures on it?

is there a link to vcaa saying you can, ive heard that you can but im not too sure!

do you have the link to vcaa, by any chance?

just in case they have a tight rule on materials.

eg. no writing or the dimensions of the material must be no longer than 30cm x 25 cm etc??

Quoting the chinese one:

Section 1: Conversation (approximately 7 minutes)
Prior to commencing Section 1 the student will provide his/her student number in English.

Section 1 will be a conversation between the student and the assessor/s. It will consist of a general conversation about the student’s personal world, for example school and home life, family and friends, interests and aspirations.
Section 2: Discussion (approximately 8 minutes)
Following the conversation the student will, in no more than one minute, indicate the sub-topic chosen for detailed study and will briefly introduce the main focus of the sub-topic, alerting assessors to any objects brought to support the discussion.  The focus of the discussion will be to explore aspects of the language and culture of Chinese-speaking communities and the student will be expected to make reference to texts studied.
The student may support the discussion with objects which have on them minimal amounts of language, such as photographs, diagrams, and maps. Notes and cue cards are not permitted.

I wish I could bring a tape or mp3 recorder, since we can't buy a copy of our Oral off VCAA. :(

I'm pretty sure you can listen to a recording of it though ...

I know it's possible for music exams, I don't see why it wouldn't be for languages too ...

Yeah I think we can get a copy of our LOTE exams...
You can also get the assessors marks/ comments individually...
Not sure if that's true though...
I hope it is..
