Title: Law and Moving Interstate

Hey im thinking about Law at ANU. I may aswell put it down as its not in the 12 VTAC preferences. See what happens.

Anyway, If I did law at ANU would I be able to practice in Victoria, or any other state for that matter?

Im not exactly rich so is it hard to fund food, accomodation and the other financial costs of moving interstate? Can you manage with part-time work, youth allowance etc.?

You wouldn't be learning about Victorian law, but you could practice in Victoria anyway if you wanted.

Part-time work and study is certainly manageable, however that alone is unlikely to entirely fund you. Catered on-campus accommodation is at least $12,000 per year, and on top of that you need money for books and other similar expenses (plus some extra for going out, etc.). You would need support either from your parents, scholarships, a bank loan or Centrelink (or a combination) unless you decide to work crazy amounts of hours.
