Used to love it until I did shit in the exams, haha. Now I have a similar view to vce01, at this stage I almost wish I had not done the subject

It's the best feeling getting to totally forget about a subject.. even though I didn't mind it much this year either :P

lol yeah doing shit in the exams has pissed me off big time. until then i didnt mind it so much. what'd you reckon you got for exam 2?

i still think i would've been eaten up by spesh though, especially going by how hard people found exam 1. i can barely do methods as it is

I'm unsure about my exam 2 result, haven't looked into it too much but was aware as soon as I walked out of the exam room that I lost 2 marks. I probably lost ~6 marks. Definitely spesh would have been hard, however going into engineering it's stuff that I'll have to learn anyway in time, in fact I'll probably be self teaching myself the specialist course this summer hols, fun!

Same, almost wish i hadn't done this subject.
My SS this year will by 1 or 2 higher than last year if i'm lucky.
I knew pretty much everything (not being cocky :P) but i just fail at exams.
I can't work under the pressure and no matter how good i am i'm still gonna stuff up badly, evidenced by my accounting midyear and the 2 further exams.
I'm not only done with further, i'm pretty much done with vce.
I'm gonna get nowhere as high as i expected now because of further :(

Yeah 2 marks in MC.
And i know i lost at least 4 marks today in SA...
But im pretty sure there's more than that because i REALLY rushed through the last 2 modules.
The pressure to do well really got to me :(

What do you think i'll get if i lost about 6 in SA?

If you lost 4: 46 maybe 47
If you lost 6: 45 or 46

okay,

im deciding if i should do further or spesh. it is hard to get perfection in further?

or is it because of no or bare minimum study?

cheers!!

yes it is, all it takes is one dodgy question to fuck you over

i sucked at general maths, thats why i didnt take up spesh. if you're remotely good tho, you should probably take that up. apparently it helps with methods too.

A few weeks earlier I would have definitely recommended further, however it definitely is all about perfection, sure extra study might of helped slightly but I really doubt there is any question in the course that I couldn't answer correctly as long as I didn't misinterpret it. However I did misinterpret a few and it will impact my score dramatically. If you are looking at going on to further study which does not involve maths by all means do further, however if you are going into something involving maths specialist will be beneficial, and really the amount of work required to get a 32 raw in specialist is likely not a large amount more than the amount of work I did this year for further and will likely get ~42 for.
If you are the type who is incapable of making stupid mistakes do further and get a 50, if you are the type of person who finds it extremely difficult to study hard subject material do further. However if those things don't apply and you truly are good at maths def do specialist.

this year i did methods gen A and further maths. gen A definately helps with methods. ive barely done any work for further all year... no homework and aced my sacs, but the exams i did tonnes of practice exams and although it prevented SOME stupid mistakes, there were definately a few that were made. so its up to you whether you think you want a breezy year and maybe a 40ish in further, depending on how you go in the exams, or work a bit harder and do better in both methods and specialist, get like 35 in methods and specialist and get scaled up to like 40 and 45ish.

so i think i got 35/40 for mc. hopefully 58/60 for sa. and 100% in sacs. what score would i be looking at?

cheers! for the replies!!

I've heard from some of my peers that further is so 'easy' which I dont think is, they also said that they did barely no study, which i think is bs!

so another qst; how much study do you need in order for a good result, eg. 47-50 raw in further?
did some of y'alls do 10+ practice exams, multiple books?

im stuffed becos i didnt do the gen math B (further 1/2) this year!!

cheers!!

I did around 30 exams for the MC (and got a pretty crappy mark)...

I wasn't expecting much from exam2 so I only did 1 or 2 exams the day before the actual exam and pulled a good mark from my perspective.

Luke, relax man.
Why are you so upset about losing around 2 marks?
There are a lot of people out there, such as me, who did a lot worse and are still keeping optimistic about it. Getting 42 in further is nothing to be angry or sad about, and i know i'm your mate and all but just be happy man! You did awesome on those 2 exams considering how difficult they were. I got like a fuckin 32/40 or something for that first exam, but most likely 55+/60 for exam 2 and i'm not complainin! I'm still hoping for a good score but i know it ain't gonna happen haha.

Just relax Coombsy.
-Mike.
