im just making sure
when they ask for AN antiderivative do you do no +c?
and when they ask for THE anti derivative u add +c?

i think people have concluded that both are correct...its on some of the other thread dunnoe where though :o

they noted it in a assessor's report that yes, if it says 'an/a', then don't include c.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but would someone be able to help me with integration by recognition? I really don't understand it. Here's an example:
a. Find the derivative of loge (cos(2x))
b. Hence find the anti-derivative of tan (2x)
I did step a (I got -2 tan (2x)) but I don't know where to go from there.
