HEY,
just wondering how everyone found the exam?
anyone remember or know where to get the answers?? (for after we've all done the exam of course)
lol
:)
-
Isn't the exam today?
-
health and human exam to commence in 1 hour and 45 minutes !
awww shit !
goodluckkk
=)
primary health care.
ottowa charter
social model of health
ALL DIFFERENT GUYS ! DONT
MIX THEM UPPP !
-
SOOOOO happy!
I found it so easy. Everything that i studied was on it!!
Nothing on Ottawa Charter!! Nothingon prenatal development! Such an easy exam!!
Hopefully will get high enough to still get a 50! (Or if that fails at 45+)
How did everyone else find it?
-
That was a great exam...heaps better than 2007 and 2006
nothing on social model of health :)
and no prenatal development which i full studied up on :(
think i did really well
-
Weird that theres hardly anyone here on the Health Board. :\
-
maby all the health kids also do economics who have an exam now :)
-
What bits did you find easy/difficult!
-
i found it all easy exept for 2 environmental factors that cause difference in injury in remote compared to metro ... just had a mind blank ...so i left it and did it at the end :)
-
Same.
That was the only question I had to bullshit my way through. But i think i will get it.
What did you put for it?
-
u know the wuestion which asks u to circle blood or energy, yer well i chose blood and sed that protein benfits the bone density and increases ur digestive system
and the teacher sed it was right!
-
i finish the exam with 30 seconds to go, but i'm sure what i wrote was pretty good
-
Everyone was jumping up and down when they came out of the exam at my school. I can only hope for good things to happen. Good vibes all around for health!... Although I don't do it and wish I had :)
-
it was fantasticcc =DDD I LOVEDDDDDDDDD IT !
woooooooooooooo =D finished 20minutes early and had reading time to go over. so pretty pleased =)
-

I chose energy and spoke about cellular respiration, that it requires carbohydrates, B group Vitamins and Iron (For Oxygen). And how these all interrelate.
I Would of thought that Blood would have spoken about Amino Acids, Iron, Vitamins B6, C. B12 and Folate? Thats what my text book said!
-
in regards to the the first question about menopause.... wat 2 hormones did u guys mention?
-
progesterone and oestrogen
Would anyone be willing to post the exam up?
-
i had Follicle stimulating hormeone as one of mine
-
I said oestrogen and progesterone and in the next part said that they both decrease.
-
i wrote oestrogen decreases and progesterone increases
-
I just looked it up on the net. This is what I found-
.....secreting the hormones oestrogen and progesterone. During menopause, production of these hormones falls drastically — oestrogen levels, for example, fall by 90 per cent over just a few years....
-
fuck :(, i didn't even know what menopause was, lolz
-
I think i used Follicle Stimulating Hormone and Oestrogen and said that the gradually decline at the onset on menopause.
-
I really want a study score of 45+ ... I haven't lost a single mark on any SACs and I'm feeling pretty good about the exam (unless I made some really silly mistakes!!) ... How many marks do you think I could afford to lose to get at least 45??
-
Depends on how the state scores really.
If the exam is considered easy, you would need an A+
If the exam is considered hard (not many do well) an A may get you there.
Not sure, Im in the same boat! Im aiming for a 50, but I dont think ill get there! Hopefully ill be in the 45+!
-
Yeah, my original aim was 50 =) ...But now I'd just be happy with 45+ ... I'm hoping to get an A+ ... I don't think it'll be considered a hard exam, do you? Most of the people I've spoken to found it pretty good...
-
I think i used Follicle Stimulating Hormone and Oestrogen and said that the gradually decline at the onset on menopause.
i used those 2 aswell
said that the body no longer requires as much oestrogen so a decrease in fsh results in a decrease in the production/secretion of oestrogen
-
So, for one of the first questions on menopaue which asked how can it affect your emotional health? I said 'hot flushes' occur and this would lead people to feeling self conscious and lead to feelings of withdrawl and possible isolation. Would this be right do you think?
-
I actually wrote the opposite, i wrote she would have feelings of liberation and elevation
-
^^
I actually wrote about both sides. We got told you get better marks if you do by an assessor.
I said for some women they would feel isolated etc etc but some may embrace it etc
-
Thanks guys, well I said 'may' so lets hope it is ok! thanks
-
ok, i want to know if everyone got the question about breastfeeding right(when the increased consumption of a particular nutrient was required)? i misread it and wrote about pregnant women rather than breastfeeding...hope it doesn't make a difference to my overall mark

i did the exact same thing but i eventually changed it after re reading at the end of the exam

with so many positive feedback on the exam, i think the scaling might go down a few from last years or something.

what do u mean?
-
well if everyone found it easy, VCAA would want a balanced curve so scaling would help achieve this. That is if everyone or majority found it easy.

I didn't think it worked quite like that...?
Wouldn't they just increase what percentage you required for an A+?
(Sorry, I'm fairly ignorant with all of this. Please correct me if I'm wrong.)

By an increased percentage, less people will get A+'s, and hence lower study scores than what they would expect last year, since the exam had limited difficulty. It's kind of unfair, but VCAA need to do what they have to do. :(

digestion and bone for blood?

Oh, I thought he was saying that HHD as a subject would now be scaled down more than the current 4 points due to the exam being more difficult?
Personally, I think it's fair that the percentage required for A+ varies according to exam difficulty and cohort performance. It wouldn't be very fair if they didn't ;)
-
did you guys realise that the question relating to the Metropolitan area.
the percentage for it was what the difference was compared to the remote and rural areas ?
VCAA is so shifty. majority of people i asked. didnt even realise.
did you guys spot what im on about or nah?
-
^^^Yup I noticed that thank god!!
I found the exam really easy, but there is a few at my school who thought it was really hard (?!) But. If lots of people found it hard..... maybe that will bring the scores up again. who knows. I guess we will all have to wait until the 15th of December!!
-
high five chlloe =)
we both managed to pick it up..
yeahh a majority from my school found it hard aswell .. hmmm well i hoopee it brings up our scores. 15th of December here we come!
-
Regarding scaling……there will always be the same percentage of people who get A+’s…that is why VCAA changes the cut off point for A+ on the exam each year.
Lower study scores??? I don’t think so…..those are also done on a bell curve so the same amount of people will achieve certain scores.
Subject scaling when working out the ENTER is done by VTAC not VCAA, and this does differ.
-
I found it easy and was actually pretty angry because i knew so much more than what they were asking...
We didnt even study menapause, but i just used common sense and said oestrogen and progesterone for the hormones and that they decrease haha.
-
i believe that the hormones that could have been used in that question were:
oestragen
progesterone
luiteinsing hormone
follicile stimulating hormone
what do u think?
-
^^ yep
they were the ones that came to my head...then i just chose the ones i could write the most about.
-
Yeah me too. I chose FSH and Oestrogen and that they decrease gradually at the onset of menopause.
