What does this subject entail? How do i prepare for this subject? Thanks
-
This subject entails a study of human health and development . .
Specifically
Factors affecting health
Nutrition
Health systems in Australia
Measuring impact of disease in Australia and globally
Human physical, emotional, social and intellectual development
and, oh yeh, a bunch more crap
To prepare for this subject i'd get ready to not underestimate it and make comprehensive notes of which you must plan to become intimately familiar with
-
I hear its pretty easy to get a 50 in HHD if you memorise the entire book.

hey u noe how there's a lot of statistics thrown around in textbook (eg mental health issues are the leading cause of disease with 14%..........). Do you think it's nescessay to learn these? It's not in the study design, so i'm not sure. What do u think?
-
Health is the subject of definitions and being able to analyse case studies. It's certainly not going to harm you if you can quote a statistic like that and state where you got that information from.

ha i wouldn't and I didn't.
If you want to, go for it. I can't see how it's really necessary though, especially since statistics like that change constantly
-
The statistics are just there to give you the big picture.
I wouldn't be bothered memorising them.
-
No point memorising statistics. The only time you would use them in the exam is when referring to graphs or tables that give you the statistics anyway.
HHD was my fave subject out of the 7. and not too hard to do well in either :)
-
can anyone think of any initiatives (strategies) for the NHPAs (eg, the tick......)? i'm feeling a little stuck
-

Just go to VCEnotes homepage and click 'contribute notes', then upload them if you'd like to.

so theyr up now... hope they help ya!
-
is it just me, or is this subject totally dependent on your ability to BS ur way through on the spot? does anyone else feel the same way?
-
No the course is specific on you recalling alot of information accurately and applying the most relevant information to the question. One course of action will get you 30, the other will get you 40+
