how much of this do we need to know? its changed (i think ahah) since the Rudd govt - so do we just need to know about the changes etc or how it was before it?

Since the course was written before the changes took place, I can say we definitely would not need to know about the latest developments.

From what I understand with this dot point in the study design:
– characteristics of past and contemporary employee relations including centralised and decentralised approaches
you need to know the basic timeline of employee relations - from the past to the present.. and how they have developed over time. They won't ask you specifically about the Rudds changes but they may ask you to explain the development of the past relations (centralised) to the new modern laws (decentralised) and you could include the Howard Governments Workchoices Act and the Rudds abolishment of WorkChoices within your answer to beef it up.

My examiner friend agrees with you so if you get a question like that just explain that crap^^^
