Title: Would we have to start again?
Post by: psychlaw on November 18, 2008, 10:37:05 pm
I've had conflicting answers on this.

Hypothetically: Say you are a year 12 student and you get an enter of 85, but the course you need requires an 86. Despite having already recieved your enter score and filled out all VTAC details (and other things year 12s need to do), if you suddenly decide you want to do another year of VCE the next year, to improve your enter and get that extra point for your course, will the subjects you did when you were 'officially' a year 12 still count towards your score? Or would you have to start again (as in your new enter would be made directly from your new subjects)

I think your ENTER is valid for 2 years. (I think I read this somewhere before.. ::) )

Nah, they'd take the agg of your top 4 whichever they were, it wouldn't matter what year you did them in

Yeah the scores you attained the year before would contribute to your ENTER score.

NOTE: This is the advice I received from VCAA regarding this issue, as I am in a similar predicament. However I got sick during the year and had to drop subjects, so that's why I'm repeating.

I got really bad headaches during the year from mindless studying (I didn't even learn anything from it :(). The weird thing was, they kept going, and coming back. I couldn't be bothered going to the hospital, but now, I think I will. I'm glad VCE is out of the way for me, though. :)

Yeh, you can go back and add study scores to your ENTER, my ENTER i got in 2007 is spilt between subjects i completed in 2005 and 2007, the best part is when you apply to VTAC again, you're still considered to be a current year 12

So just to clarify, say I did year 12 next year, but completely screwed up english, I could potentially redo english alone in 2010 and have it go towards a new enter, along with my 2008 & 09 subjects, minus english 2009?
