Post by: kurrymuncher on November 24, 2008, 05:25:27 pm
Hey guys, just had my IT class for next year and the teacher thought it would be funny to give us past exams to complete. Because i havent done year 11 IT, i have no idea what is going and I need help :'(  I might ask some really noobish questions so dont laugh  ;D

These questions are from a year 11 exam

1.Boolean variables have:
a) null values
b) one value
c) two values
d) many values

2. A key field, or primary key is:
a) the first field shown in a data structure table
b) a field that uniquely identifies each record in a file
c)vthe most important field in a database
d) a password protected field in a database

3. An example of a convention would be:

a)centering a heading in a document
b) right aligning numbers in a column in a spreadsheet
c) using a bulleted list for ingredients in a recipe

And also, can someone please very briefly explain what debugging is. Thanks :) :) :)

2. B
3. A ( i think)
debugging looks for errors in the program and fixes them so that the program runs correctly and produces the required output

debugging is the process of finding and correcting errors.

Question 1 is very poorly worded. Technically it has two 'possible' values (on/off yes/no) but in itself it is ONE value. So, technically one, but you can tell they are asking for 'two'.
