A family friend of mines got it and she knew it like 3 days b4.
-

When I was in my coordinator's office after results last year, I was randomly looking at papers and *accidentally* read that schools can access your results from the Sunday, but they aren't allowed to tell you what they are. Also, scholarship offers are received on the Monday, I'm pretty sure (that was when I got mine), which means that the universities must know peoples results slightly before the people who got those results, otherwise they can't decide who got the scholarships and send out the paperwork/phone people on time.
-
RD if you dont mind me asking what course did your brother study with that incredible ENTER score?

It makes me angry that I can't just run into that office Sunday night like a crazed lunatic and yell out 'what did I get?'... And look over the teachers shoulders to see everyone else's scores too. :D... See what this has done to me? XD

MBBS at Monash.

So do the teachers actually have to be at school on the Sunday to access the results ?

So does that mean the student won't know until Monday like everyone else?

Schools can access scores early? if so, awesome, because my dad works at my school!

lol score :P

so do we know if this is actually true or not? (that teachers can see results on sunday)

Yes, it is 100% true (at least at my school). I may pull of a stint and try to call my school, or run in acting like a crazy woman so they have to tell me my scores. :D (They have one day, we have two. :S)
-
oh wow, why can't we get our results then too??
it's not like the teachers are gonna be stressing half as much as we are!
they didn't even sit the exams :P

I know... They're so evil to us as well... Most of them said they will laugh at how badly we done. :S

My Lit teacher said that he wanted me to email him my result as soon as i get it because they cant access the results until 11am or 12pm, i forgot which time...
is this the same with anyone else from what they have heard?

Wow, mine said they can get it by 8:00pm the night before? Maybe it's different in different schools?

Are you sure you want your dad being the first person to see your results? :P

I've always wondered about what really goes on 'behind the scenes' if a student's mother or father works in the school as a teacher or something. I've always suspected of some of the inside chat to be passed on to their children :P

damn.. I shud some how get in touch with some teachers and try to persuade!
-
Haha, no offence [LOL] but it's only 1 day. Are you that *eager* for results?!
what you got 20 for english? That wud be a great pwntage :P
-
lol... good point, I don't think I really wanna see my results anymore :(
-
you are probably getting confused with the midyear results.
the schools got the results on the sunday, and posted them out to the students on the monday.. but thats only letter grades for midyear exams... not study scores or ENTERs
im 99% sure that the schools won't get ENTER scores until equal to or greater than when we get them.

i'm 99% sure that what nicalaz has said is true. Most of my teachers including my coordinator said that they get our ENTER scores early to late january which is much later than when we get ours. Who said teachers get em earlier then us?
-
So they find out our ENTERs after us?
-
yeah and my english lang teacher said that we have to txt her our ENTERs, cause she only has access to our englang raw scores
i'm guessing they get info from VCAA, but nothing from VTAC, until a later date
-
So they find out our ENTERs after us?
yer
-
So teachers just get our grades and study scores for that particular subject? and they get this at the same time as us?
-

not too sure about this one but i think it's after us anyway.
Plus why would VTAC give out ENTER or subject scores to teachers before giving it to the people that matter, i.e. vce students.
btw i'm listening to andrea bocelli - con te partiro which is just beautiful.

Provided you gave permission, they can see your Study Scores in the newspaper.

Only if the score is >40 though
-
The scores will be published in the Education section of The Age on Monday, right?
(Not sure as the previous years' scores are on the Herald Sun website)

The scores are usually published in the papers on the Wednesday; they need some time to compile the data.
*edit* ^ Yes, on the 17th.

The scores are available on the VASS system on the Sunday (VCAA scores at least, I don't know about VTAC). The scaling report is even usually out before results. I have no idea if the teachers look at them or not, I know that they aren't allowed to tell students their results until they are formally released. It makes sense, relatively, it's probably all in the aim of ensuring that students can access their results on time and that students will able to get their physical Victorian Certificate of Education on the day after results (which are handed out by the schools), which means that the schools would have to be notified that the students passed as well.
Note: this has not been verbally confirmed to me by anyone at my old school or the VCAA itself. I only saw a paper in the coordinators office detailing that the results were in the system last year as of the Sunday before results day.
-
Some schools have internal policies that prevents anyone but VASS coordinators to access the scores. My school is like that, and I believe many other schools, which is why some teachers want the student to let them know. Generally, the principal/VASS coordinators decide who in the school can see the results and when they see them [sometimes never].
-
Pretty sure at my school all the teachers can see :S..
-
Our teachers find out on the Tuesday.
-
Ours find out a day before we get our results... And all of them will spread the word somehow. :(
-
Also, think about stories on the News, who film 99.95'ers getting their scores.
(although, they could just find out on the day, and then stage it so it looks like the students are only receiving their scores for the first time)
-

this doesn't make sense. I've never heard of any school receiving the students results a day before the results come out!
-
Teachers DO get the ENTER Scores a day before the students, to check for inconsistencies and prepare for certificates and stuff. Lucky I live 2mins away from the school, gonna go on a rampage to get my results.

Well, they get it on the Sunday night and we get it on the Monday morning... I thought this was common? :O
@ ZeroX03: Thank you. :D

What. IMO, teachers should never get results unless the student consents them to do so. I don't my ass english teacher looking my results.
God :(

I believe all schools have that privilege (much to your disappointment, Prav...)
-
I think students can opt to have their results kept private from the school. It might be one of the things you sign at the beginning of the year (I think squance did this?).

Oh, I thought the school had all scores regardless? Wow, I should have signed the thing then. :S
-
Yeah can confirm all teachers get your study scores for their particular subjects - 3pm I believe. :(

I'm so gonna call them!!!
-
however most schools i would say, and im guessing is the case with mine.. want to remain professional and make sure everyone's results are confidential, so they wouldnt give the teachers the subject scores till the next day... only the principal or whoever would have access to them on the sunday
-
@Alana
You're welcome
@The Rest in Denial
That paper you signed at the start of the year is the consent to have your marks published in the newspaper, as long as you get 40+. Also, be serious, teachers MUST have your marks before you to check for inconsistencies with the marking scheme, you wouldn't want to see a SS of 25 when you really got 40 or something lol. Besides then that way they have the time to prepare for other stuff. Pray that we all get the SS we want peeps.
-
Teachers get to see your study score for the subject they've taught you in. Pretty sure that's it though.

The way teachers talk at my school, every teacher will know what I got in everything (it doesn't help that almost every teacher knows me as well :S).
-
