Title: Do we need to know...?
Post by: Wizard on December 14, 2008, 06:56:29 pm
Do we need to know the uncertainties of the instruments? (eg. the pipette and the burette?)

Out of curiosity, what is the uncertainty of a 25ml pipette?

Nope. Not sure about the uncertainty of the instruments - they could vary depending on brand, perhaps?

The uncertainty would be small btw. I think it would say so on the RL instrument (or the packaging it came in or something)
Maybe +/-0.05 or something off the top of my head, I remember seeing in questions aliquot - 20.00mL etc (given this was 1.5 years ago so I might be a bit fuzzy in memory department :P)

Yep, +/- 0.05 for pipette, burette etc.
