Need to get my Ls, but I was just wondering whether the majority are learning auto instead of manual now?
-
I like auto better. lool, good luck on your L's, hope you fluke em I like did LOL (i got 100% when my test average was 88-91%) lol
-
I'd say whatever is available (as in the car)... i would prefer to learn manual, but considering my parents both own autos ill end up learning how to drive auto...
-
what kind of derranged moron would drive an expensive, non-fuel efficient and slow automatic car. Manual is for real champs unless you're a woman you're stuck with auto sry thats life
LOL! DROODLES! :D
Did you vote? Manual still has 0 next to it.
-
i voted manual :D sorry droodles, i'm a chick, but i love cars and both my mum and i agree that manual=REAL driving! i'm on my Ls and proudly a manual driver...though i haven't driven enough to be a good one yet lol
-
manual is funn
-
hmm i guess it can't hurt learning manual tho, but i'll end up driving auto anyways.
-
wow theres two girls here that say manual is cool hahahhaahaha
And here is a third :)
My mum has an auto but I want a manual! more fun ^^ I don't like how my mum's car goes at 5-10km when I take my foot off the break.
-
lol im booking learners test 2 day as well..what a coincidence...havent read the book..and got 66% on the practice test without reading anything...they say the pass line is 78% so im not far off!
-
lol i did it on wednesday... it was so easy...
got 88 considering that i havent read the book AT ALL until after the test (yes, that's much use)...
but then i was betting with friends when i was doing the practice tests... lost a few drinks there...(non alcoholic, alcohol is too expensive =P plus now i cant have a blood alcohol reading...)
-
hah auto ftw.
-
auto... easier :)
-
My sister's getting a manual real soon so hopefully she'll let me take her for a drive. I want to learn manual for my license
-
lol. i have troubles driving an auto. i cant turn :( well i only driven like 3 times ish. i hope i can get my Ps before july next year.
-
so if u do manual, do you have to do your test with a manual car?
-
well yeah.. If you do the test with automatic I'm guessing you'd get your automatic license..
-
Lol yes.
Here's a 4th - manual rocks! FUNNN! And a manual licence allows you to drive both manual and auto, so either way you're good :).
If you've got the option of either, seriously try both and see which you prefer over time, and if you're not fussed, go for manual as that gives you greater flexibility in what you drive in the future.
My friend just got her P's on a manual but until about 6 months ago she hadn't driven anything but auto. It doesn't have to be one or the other straight away.
-
Manual. Only tools drive auto.
-
Auto --> if you just want to get from point A to point B
Manual --> if you actually enjoy driving

Im not into cars or whatever but is a manual car where u have to have one hand on the steering wheel and the other on the gearstick??? Why would u need to do that?

this is why you are a woman and you drive auto
-
I drive automatic, only because both my parents cars are automatic and I don't have access to a manual car (therefore I can't practice in a manual car, thus can't get a manual license).

Are you serious? You don't know why? :o

I got my L's the day after my 16th Birthday... i started in my mums Manual Kia Carnival... it is a big car and i couldn't control it very well but i got the gears a bit then i started professional driving lessons in a manual and that was ok, i drove a small car but i kept getting in trouble for little things like not keeping my arms relaxed or using the slid the wheel thing when your turning... and i stalled it a fair few times. I didn't have much confidence so i changed to auto for my lessons and have had about 10 ish lessons in an auto and its sooooooo much easier, i'm gaining confidence on the road and experiencing the traffic on its own first. I am going back into a manual at the beginning of next year :D i can't wait, im going to get my P's in a manual :D.
Aimee :)

Going for a manual license, only have access to manuals rarely (lessons, or if someone lets me borrow theirs) but I've picked it up easily and hopefully will pass the test in January.
-
I didn't even read the book and got 100%. Trust me its easy, don't stress. (actually I think I lost when I got it ROFL)
-
Already on my manual Ps :) (have been for over a year)
It's not that bad, compared to Ls. You just have to practise manipulating the gears a LOT - lots of short drives are good basically. It all becomes second nature..(hell, I don't even have a tachometer in my car - I shift gears based on feel / sound).

i'm a victim of the new 120 hr thingo... had my L for a month now, havent even sat in the driver seat yet ;D
-
LOL, bit slow on the uptake there ;)
