Title: Learning to drive companies
Post by: cara.mel on May 29, 2008, 01:07:02 pm
Would you guys recommend any good ones? Or are they one and the same

Requirements:
- Be in south eastern suburbs (south eastern suburbs == proper suburbs, eg anything a bit closer to the city than monash clayton is considered too far in to be a suburb :))
- Understanding my requirements (practise until I am just capable of passing test, then I will proceed to practise 120 hours individually under all conditions such as rain and night and dusk. They must not be tight about wanting to do things 'properly' to be a 'safe driver')
- Put up with someone who doesn't talk much for the 45 minute blocks or however long they are.
Oh and manual car

I have enough money because of some $2000 prize from federal government for doing well at school so that should cover ~45 lessons + vic roads fee which should be enough I hope.
I cannot practise with any one else unless one of you is willing to let me illegally drive you car and void all warranty if I crash it (I tried asking excal :P) so my only choice is to spend lots of money on lessons.

Edit: Subject because I realised it didnt make sense

I don't think anyone would mind if you didn't talk about stuff other than driving
I shared some passions with my instructor, but I only started talking to him when I was really confident, as earlier, our banter would end in a growl from him when it made me lose concentration

Yeah I use RACV and they're ok, but it's about $40 a lesson. I'm pretty sure the driving schools would be located throughout Melbourne.

RACV are good, the instructors have their own pair of brake/accelerators so they can correct you or even save your life. They are also friendly people.

I used RACV, and my instructor was very good (but maybe too talkative for your liking). I had five lessons, and then I've driven with my dad up until now (40 hours). I can't vouch for all RACV instructors being good, but mine was.
