lol yeah its not everyday you win a USB (Flash Memory Stick Storage Device for prav)

There was this competition where you had to sort a deck of cards the quickest, there was five of us and we did it in 46s which was the second fastest time. The guys who were running the competition claimed they could do it ~30s, I don't know how else we could have gone faster.

why the hell do you call it USB.

ITS A USB FLASH DRIVE. FLASH DRIVE. A USB is a damn communication port.

And @ hard, have reason why unimelb sucks. You're pathetic.
Title: Re: Open days...
Post by: xox.happy1.xox on August 10, 2008, 08:11:08 pm
All Uni's are awesome! It just depends what commodities you are looking for when choosing a University. For example, RMIT is one of the best for technology, therefore most technology oriented people will apply for there. La Trobe is commended for their Psychology facilities... It just depends on your taste. But the main point is, not one University is head over heels better than the other. :)

applexy get over your obsession for melbourne university. It's not the greatest university for me and i think it sucks 2 or maybe three bison balls. Or maybe giraffes balls? But the point is, the engineering faculty there sucks which to my opinion is the most important part of any university. long live monash/rmit/latrobe

why don't you get over your obsession of gay pornography. Seriously.

Pfft. RMIT is a joke. The city campus is not even a damn campus, it's a just a damn building. RMIT hasn't discovered anything major for research and all it has is pathetic courses.

Monash, ok, that's alright.

Latrobe. Well any dumbshit will know thats crap  due to its prematurity.

Why don't you suck FAILMIT's bison balls. gtfo.

and stop fucking generalising you poofda. It's not the whole fucking uni, it's just the damn faculty. Who fucking pionnered the bionic ear and discovered Tasmanian tiger DNA, yeah that's right. Does it have actuarial studies, no I didn't think so. Commerce, Law and Med at UoM will kick thoses fuckers ass any day.

your embarrassing yourself right there. there's really nothing to say to this other than learn to cope with opinions that contradict yours. i think you need to grow some balls, seriously, it's like you act 10 years old. what would be funny is if you never made to melb uni and actually went to the small building in the city. what a laugh that would be mr i love melb uni so much that i have a guaranteed position there.

now i could swear back acting all "hard," lmao that was so coincidental with my user name, and be the hero that you try to be but no, i'll save myself the embarrassment.

If you were referring to the IT subject areas of Melbourne, I think you'll find unilateral agreement that Melbourne is not the place to go.

Each course, or indeed course sub-disciplines, between universities have their own merits. There are even other considerations such as travelling distance that come into play. Each to their own, I say.

I know that I'd go to La Trobe if I wanted to study Journalism, Box Hill TAFE to study Music Technology or Swinburne for Robotics / Photonics.

Surely, u knew that referring to a uni as 'sucking bison balls' was going to warrant some sort of retalliation given that a number of people on these forums including myself are UoM students, but I could perhaps be over estimating your intelligence and perhaps your vocabulary limits you to using such remarks. Choose your words carefully next time, or alternatively buy a dictionary and start expanding your vocabulary so you  don't write any more crap when expressing your opinions.

Combined with what? BA or BE (or BCompSci, BCom..)?

You generally complete the same course load, except you may not get as much flexibility in electives (this is where they tend to combine).

Myself, it means I can't do any minors, but for engineering I suffer little. I do Maths, Physics and Chemistry this year as part of my sci degree, and they count to BOTH science and engineering. Next year I do Maths and Physics throughout the year. The year after that, I do only Maths (2 subjects per semester), and the year after that I'll do 4 subjects (2 per semester) of Physics to close out a Physics major.

So, in terms of credit points, I think I only do 4 less units than a normal sci degree person and those are usually taken up by a minor/electives in the normal degree. All you lose is a bit of choice. I'm not fussed though, it's more or less the same. That's ONLY if you do eng though. If you do commerce or law with it, it becomes different and my thoughts are of little use to you.

Hmm, I think you'd have to overload in 2nd (or 3rd) year to do that. In fact I'm pretty sure of it. If you want to do majors outside of Maths or Physics, you have to overload.

Lacoste, it's definitely beneficial to go to UoM open day! You can learn a LOT about whether or not you like the university/what it has to offer. I know my visit to Monash Open Day pretty much sealed the deal for my aero eng/sci selection.

i'm not questioning the fact that im MOZART. all i'm saying, as a joke that isn't meant to be funny, that there are barely any threads with mozart in them. Im not saying that there aren't, i'm not saying 'm not mozart, i'm not saying enwiabe hasn't go the IP addresses but if you interpreted what i said correctly then you'll know that i was just saying mozart has been inactive for a while and therefore the threads with mozart in them are pretty old which doesn't mean that im saying the IP address of mozart isn't the same as hards. if your a moderator you can easily check that my ip address is the same as mozarts', it's not like i didn't know that.

hopefully this is resolved.

oh man, this is epic.

mozart: welcome back. we didn't like you then, we don't like you any more now. so learn to keep the maxim of quantity and quality: don't say any more than you have to, and don't say anything that does not have sufficient reasoning/evidence that you can use as back-up.

AppleXY: you have revealed a new side to you, one that is fierce and unreasonable. we understand UoM's prestige, that is not to say you must promote it or put down other universities. Whilst it is one thing to defend it from accusations of "sucking balls", it is another to insult other unis, such as RMIT and La Trobe. Personally I believe they are great universities.
RMIT is a great campus, right across the street from Mlebourne Central and State Library, how much better can it get? La Trobe is a little far away from the city, and it might not have as long a history as UoM, but the solidarity of the student community there is commendable, and uni life sure is awesome there.
I do realise you have apologised, but I do think the attacks lost you respect from many. I also suggest you should put down the golden banner of UoM, because I know many would laugh very very hard if you don't get in.

Forums are hardly like this, and I don't advocate this maxim at all. I think you've said more than you need to in this post by saying this:

Quote
we didn't like you then, we don't like you any more now

Now I begin to understand why some members of this forum believe that particular members have a superiority complex.

Oh, I didn't mean it for that post.

I was more concerned with this:

ingramjack48

we all are... so explain or the negative karma shall multiply tenfold

ninwa (+37/-3) smites ingramjack48 (+0/-2)
do you even know what "idolising" means, Mr Bandwagoner?

Yet:

ninwa (+37/-3)  perfectscore (+0/-16)     -     you are a fucking douche
ninwa (+37/-3)    perfectscore (+0/-16)    -    we're not stupid

Perhaps this was because of an earlier impression you had of him?

ninwa (+37/-3)  ingramjack48 (+0/-2)     -     droodles is teh awsm

I just thought that first smite was a rather trivial thing.

I also think you are the "bandwagoner" here for smiting hard for supposedly starting a fight, but no, he didn't hold a gun to AppleXY's face and tell him to swear at him outlandishly because he attacked UoM. He has the right to that opinion.

What, because we have some guy who will defend UoM whenever it's attacked, it then becomes "starting a fight" if we choose to challenge that? It's pretty inconsistent with some of the good principles I know that you believe in.

I don't understand the perfectscore thing?

Yes, that first smite was quite trivial. But then again so are many of the karmas being given out. Sorry I don't take the karma system seriously usually. I'm sure most people don't.

I only took it seriously this time because I felt that I was unfairly being accused of holding grudges when usually I try my best not to and I take pride in my ability to let things go.

And ouch, bandwagoner, me? I would never do something because everyone else is. Credit me with some personal integrity and a brain that's able to think for herself please!

I believed hard was starting a fight there because he used unnecessarily insulting language (like UoM sucks bison balls or something, I cbf checking). Surely there's more polite ways of putting it? He has a right to the opinion that UoM is crap, but insulting language is not on IMO.

i really don't think bison balls is in anyway insulting. Have a look though this forum and see how many people actually use "offensive" language but don't get the reaction that i got from you. honestly, in what way does bison balls make you offended? i see it as very immature to see that as insulting! from the words of ninwa

what am i supposed to do? make sure every single word i type isn't seemingly trivial and can hurt some ones feelings? i'm not trying to be rude to any one here but ninwa accusing me of trying to start a fight may also offend me but it's something that is unexpected. you don't see the average person being sensitive to words with very little offensive weighting in them. They even say bison balls/testicals on Friday night live! a pg show. ahh well i don't want to argue this issue anymore but i'm just abiding by the rules, not swearing at anyone directly or nothing like that. I can't expect a something that is inoffensive to be offensive to the outlier.

Apple or something attack him viciously (and immaturely) and everyone seems to be picking on his mistakes. I guess its cos he's not the 'popular' one to being with and i bet u that if the role had been reversed, Hard would still be the one causing the trouble.

I was not offended. There's been much worse on this forum. I was merely stating that it was unnecessarily inflammatory language considering pretty much everyone on this forum knows how in love with UoM AppleXY is. And no, I'm not on his side, his response wasn't exactly polite either.
