2) FSN will always be a safe community environment for all denominations of society. This means no racism, homophobia, or discrimination of any kind. Any comments making mass generalisations on the basis of sex, race, religion, or sexual preference must be supported by citable empirical evidence. FSN takes a zero-tolerance policy to such bigotry.

54 - Your score rates you as "homophobic."
In his 1996 study of 64 Caucasian, male college students, Dr. Henry Adams classed 35 participants as "non-homophobic." In 1980, a different research team found 56% of their white, male sample scored in the homophobic range. This is not conclusive, however. Dr. Adams, the researcher who helped develop this scale, writes that "a major difficulty of this area of research is in defining and measuring homophobia." Elsewhere, he cautions: Since there is no universally accepted definition of homophobia, the scales currently in use may not measure all aspects of homophobia.
lol :S

Yeah, mark_alec that's just crossing the line man :P cool it.

40 - Your score rates you as "non-homophobic."
not a homophobe but people like chris crocker (who wants people to 'eat his cornhole' and 'tug-a-lug' on his hair ) put me off.
i would be kinda uncomfortable if they kissed or cuddled infront of me... holding hands is the most i can handle.
-
6 - "high-grade non-homophobic".
yay polky high five :D
homophobe-phobic :)
nice :P
-
22 - Your score rates you as "high-grade non-homophobic." Sincerity is the key... Everybody should be treated equal :)
-
32 - Your score rates you as "non-homophobic."
:P
-
13 - Your score rates you as "high-grade non-homophobic."
People who got less than this probably engineered their score, I think.
I put neutral for things that I thought were irrelevant to homophobia, such as whether you believe gay rights organisations are vital, whether you make jokes about them (that should be relative to what jokes you make about other people). I put neutral for whether I enjoyed the company of them, and "gay people deserve what they get."

He's really scary but somewhat funny

yeah that was a misleading question
-
I think I got like 5 on that test. Not very high, in any case.
Lolz, I was dancing topless at a gay club last night. Though to call it a gay club is really pushing it. I saw four straight couples hooking up there and not one gay couple. Tsk tsk.

Yeah, I scanned through without doing the questions and decided any final score is relatively meaningless.
I find that questions structured in that way are very dependent on how you want to report yourself. You know which option leads to a low score, which one leads to a high score, and select according to how you want yourself to be perceived, not what you actually feel.
If it was to be kept in that format it should just be agree/disagree/neutral, at best. Just because I bet a lot of people were umming and erring between 'slightly' and 'strongly' (or whatever words they used) and were like 'I'll just pick the more positive one'

96 - Your score rates you as "high-grade homophobic."
haha, go engineering :P

Your engineering has possibly failed you on question 20 (for some reason, you agree with this one)

20. Homosexual behavior should not be against the law.
STRONGLY DISAGREE!!! IT SHOULD BE AGAINST THE LAW LAWL~
[what a phailed questionnaire]
[and I have to believe that it should be against the law to get "0 - Your score rates you as "high-grade non-homophobic.""]
-
I've seen questionaires where there are strongly agree, slightly agree, slightly disagree, strongly disagree and the slightly/strongly modifiers mean nothing xD
-
select according to how you want yourself to be perceived, not what you actually feel.
I actually selected according to how I feel, because I really don't give a damn how I'm portrayed on a forum where most of the people don't know me :P
I just happen to be very ... erm ... homophilic?
-
53- your score rates you as a homophobic
-
8 - Your score rates you as "high-grade non-homophobic."
-
yay for all the REAL "high-grade non-homophobics" :D
-
I'm Sorry, but this whole thread is a bit of a joke
i think it's quite funny to be in a society where we celebrate the fact that we tolerate people.
You truly are great people for being tolerant, how nice of you.
You have to really laugh at people who proudly announce that they're not homophobic, like its an amazing and rare skill, to be tolerant of others. I realise that there are people who are not tolerant, but it must by no means be considered a virtue, it should be an assumed quality that people have.
I don't mean to be condescending, but i've spent alot of time listening to people telling me how awesome they are, because they're tolerant of others
-
LOL GO BA22!!!
side note: wow miranda kerr was on TV. She looked smoking :)
-

Actually, judging from the people I've met in my life so far, it IS a very rare skill, especially in relation to homosexuality.
-
“Tolerate” isn’t the right word to use in this context. (I really hate it when people say they are "tolerant" of black or gay people for example, and think they are so amazing and accepting etc.)
When you state that you “tolerate” one’s sexual preference or race, you infer that you are putting up with something negative. You are not.
“Tolerating” is, for example, enduring a disease or a virus, or someone’s horrible habits (such as, oh I don’t know, tolerating your friend picking their nose constantly or something. I for example, tolerate my boyfriend’s extremely smelly feet after he plays sport.)
/end rant.
-
but that is the tone of this thread, people big noting themselves because they are accepting of a person's particular preference
-
I for example, tolerate my boyfriend’s extremely smelly feet after he plays sport.)
haha
I hardly think people here are "big noting" themselves - they are simply putting up the score they received in the survey test thing which the OP put up a link to. What's wrong with that?
-
Mmm... interesting point by BA22. Yeah, we should be pursuing bigots rather than celebrating "tolerance."
It doesn't really hurt to celebrate tolerance though.
-
Very much agree with BA22 and Jess, although the more "homophobes" [lets hope they are passionate engineers] there are, the rarer it is to be non-homophobic
