Title: Study Score Statement
Post by: doboman on December 21, 2008, 11:58:26 pm
Hey guys,

I was just wondering, has anybody had a SSS? What does it consist of? If anybody has one, can they upload it or something- just so i know if it's worth it?

Thanks alot VNers.

Don't think it's worth it... I got mine and it basically says each percentage for each GA... I got one for Psych last year, and didn't bother with it this year. :P Meh, I guess if you want to know the GA's for each criterion then go for it, but personally, I'd say it's not worth it.

I ordered one for each of the subjects I did. Still haven't gotten it yet. Really want to see what I got for eco and english. I don't have a scanner (that functions), unfortunately.

I got a SoM for English, but it hasn't arrived yet. I put it through the mail last Wednesday so I'm expecting it any time this week. Is SoM the same as SSS?? I don't know, but once I get it, i'll try to scan it through.

I think an SoM is only your grade for the exam (eg what you got right and wrong) and a SSS shows you your percentage for each individual GA (eg. each percentage,weighting...)

Yeah - SoM tells you the marks you received for each individual question on the exam - while the SSS just tells you your mark (and percentag, weighting) for each GA.

Does anyone know if you are able to get VCAA to check your GA (SAC only) grades to see if they are correct??

I can only find the examination inspection and nothing about SACs??

Gah... checking your results is so expensive for multi exam subjects

How much

Depends how much you want. But if you want the Statement of Marks you will have to pay twice, about $8 per exam. If you want to know your SAC score it's another $8. Then if you are perhaps unsure about your study score and want to inspect scripts it's $8 per exam again. So if for some reason you wanted it all, you would be paying around $40 dollars.

Inspecting scripts isn't the same as remarking though, you have to pay more to get it actually remarked I think

Wow 56/60 yields 48 SS??

Shit I musta done crap!

(not crap just I thought to get 48 you needed higher.)

BTW- thats a statement of examination marks yeh?

and sorry i dont understand the red box bit either

You also have to take into account SAC marks and how they were adjusted. It probably wasn't only her exam score that yielded the 48, but her SAC scores were possibly almost perfect to get that 48.

EDIT: Oh, I replied too late. XD

Nah the way to think of it is that 58/60 gets you a 50, then every mark you drop from that drops you a study score (so 53/60 gets you a 45 etc). That's pretty accurate up until about 48/60 or so, I think.

^ Thanks Humph! And thanks for the English advice you gave me during the year, if you remember :)

Yup Costargh, it's a Statement of Examination marks. It was quite a rip off ($8.10, lol) but I guess it puts my mind to ease now.

I had forgotten (plenty of people asked me for help/advice with english over the year) but I went back and looked at my PMs... well, I hope my advice was somewhat useful to you, even if you didn't quite get your goal of 50 ;)

So sorry to hijack your thread Doboman, but I thought it might've been appropriate to post here. Can somebody help understand my SoM? I don't really get the parts which i've circled in a red box. Sorry about the missive hair on the side of the page, lol.

Ah for Methods I got:

100/100 for SACs A+  (99 originally)
37/40 for Exam 1 A
78/80 for Exam 2 A+

SS: 48

WOW so A+ for Exam 1 must have been 38+, that's crazy...

Thanks,
One of my friends got a 50 and he lost a guaranteed 2 marks on exam 2, so there is, apparently, a 3 mark difference between 48 and 50 :P

Hey guys, since the SOM have been coming in (i haven't received mine yet), do you want to start posting up the A+ (or A or B+ ect) cut offs

It should be at the bottom of your page for your respective grades. Much appreciated.

Didn't see any cutoffs, all it gave was the 45,40,35,30,25,20 proportions, which is the same as on your GAT results.
