Not sure if this really is a rant or debate, but much speculation has arisen over Physics actually still being a part of the VCE curriculum. Specialist is basically one portion of Physics, with the rest being split among chemistry and other related subjects. With this notion, is there really any point in continuing having Physics as a VCE subject anymore?

In short. No
They will not remove Physics
-
That's one of the most retarded things I've ever heard. Though there's slight overlap with chem and spec, but it's not a very major overlap. University physics also assumes that you know all the things covered in yr11&12 physics (the basics of waves & optics, quantum mechanics, electromagnetism, etc.). If you tried to do any uni physics course only on the back of spec and chem you'd be completely fucked.
Also I have no idea where this "much speculation" has come from, it's the first I've heard of it.

It will never get removed form the VCE course.
-
Removing it would be a stupid idea. No one understands it as it is, and all the engineering kids need *some* understanding of it.
And the overlap between spec and physics is tiny, you look at things from different angles anyway (it was quite fun, my spec teacher made up problems that were supposed to be hard that I solved in physics-y ways in 2 lines :D)

Lol yeah I do that with inclined slopes and conservation of energy.

Where did this all start, I've never heard of it
-
I also heard that they were gonna morph BusMan, Legal Studies, Accounting and Economics together because all of them slightly overlap with eachother! ROFL. the subject will be called Business studies
-
I also heard that they're merging foundation, further, methods and specialist maths into one maths subject.
-
LOL!

and VCAL Numeracy. That's right

LOL VCAL Numeracy?!

as soon as Neobeo, Ahmad and dcc finalise the grand-unification, all sciences* will be taught under the same umbrella.
*excluding fake sciences such as Biology, Psychology, Social Sciences... :P
-
THEY ARE NOT FAKE KTHX :) :) :) :) :)
-
Is it true that VCAL numeracy is the same curriculum as kindergarten numeracy?
-
:O
AS IF FAKE
*ninwa cuddles her poor biology*
-
Is it true that VCAL numeracy is the same curriculum as kindergarten numeracy?
That's insulting to kindergarteners
-
you guys are mean to vcal kids :(
the ones at work aren't that bad.
asides from I need to help them each week translate the roster from 24 hour time, they're quite nice ^_^

You cannot get anymore fake than psychology. I dont why, but that subject pisses me off. :idiot2:

Do you hate Tom Cruise? Will Smith? John Travolta?
They're Scientologists so I'm just wondering. :)

They are, but not out of choice. They get brainwashed into it and lose their ability to think rationally. That, tragically, makes them stupid.

no will smith isn't a scientologist get your facts right. He is christian but a observer of all religions and thus also has interest, not belief, in scientology.
seek and learn.

lol how did a discussion on physics turn into a scientology discussion?
oh right. it's the thetan's fault.

Scientology treats any celebrity like a star, just so that they join up (and act as pin-up boys/girls for them)

No-one knows for sure, particularly when any mention of Scientology is a celebrity's kryptonite...
