I was at the match too. I came a bit late, so by the time I got up to the third level, they were already up 1-0. And by the time I found the rest of my mates and got a seat, they were up by two. Good match ruined by the two most annoying kids that were sitting next to me, though (they should NOT be allowed to have those inflatable stick thingies. Makes my head hurt).
-
hahah!!! I had a bloody annoying kid behind me that was aboiut 10 years old and thought he knew everything!!! He thought he was god and cood do everything and anything better than the players on the pitch!
NO ANNOYIN KIDS ALLOWED INTO TD plz!
what aisle were you @?
I was on L3 aisle 34 I think
-
Aisle 12, I think?
haha, I do that too. Sometimes it's just frustrating to see a player make a run, only for the player who has the ball to stop and pass it backwards or something like that.
-
hahah yeh but I think its the fact that its a little kid with a high pitched voice who has no fucken clue about the game that is making these statements that irritates me lol.
high pitched voices give me da shits
-
Yeah, I can see what you are saying. The kid next to me said 'send him off!' after one of the sydney players committed a foul, so each time it happened after that, me and him would say it in tandem. Good times.
The girl who was sitting on the other side of the two kids asked them nicely to stop, but that only made them do it even more. People who do that give me the shits.

That was an awesome game by the looks of the video.
Though...
I know ım half around the world. Why the F+%&K ıs there empty seats?
That hould of been a full sold out game.
If we want football to excell and grow ın australıa, the fırst thıng we need ıs full crowds and then ınvestment ınto players.
And ofcourse. the socceroos perforıng well for the reputatıon.
But those goals were absolutely awesome, besıde the last one whıch looked sımple.
-
good game
-
I like at the 14 minute mark when Sydney is leading 2-1 the commentator goes "hang onto your seats, this is going to be a classic!"
It certainly was!
-
I would have enjoyed going to this game, looked like a great game with some great goals by both sides. We should make the finals without any troubles now.
-
I was there :D. Awesome game.

there are empty seats because the club has sold its true home of Olympic park to a corporate shithole that is dockalands stadium.
bring back olympic park!

swan street stadium may turn out to be as shit as docklands stadium. the only way to view football is through proper terracing

lets hope it isnt

olympic park is a run down piece of shit. You dont NEED terracing to enjoy football. Football is football, stop whinging.

just like you need sponsors to tell you how to support and put their propaganda in your face.
"there is three minutes of snickers injury time remaining"
"raise your hyundai hand, to show support for the lads on the park"
fuck me hows that for a bad joke
-
Are you fucken retarded? How do you expect leagues and clubs to run without sponsership?
You're living in a dream world mate. 90% of hardcore football fans are literally among the dumbest people on the planet.
-
Surely you can't compare the need for corporate sponsers with the need for terraces at games...

im not comparing them, i'm just stating what i would prefer to see
-
Sure I would prefer no corporate sponsership but would we have a league to follow or a team to support if there wasn't sponsership?
Just think before you say something.
-
tbh my only problem with sponsership is the way they shove their shit down your face.
I agree that "some" sponsorship is needed, but on multimillion dollar levels it sickens me.
Having "Tony's hardwarde" sponsoring their local club appeals to me majorly. Gives the community a sense of beloning to the club, unlike some japanese owned and run company putting money into a club they have never heard of in hoping to make more sales on their product.
-
Marketing is more than just selling another useless product to a person who doesnt need it. It's about building customer relationships. Sponsership of a household name brand such as Melbourne Victory is all about building relationships with customers.
Whether you see their way of marketing to be excessively 'in your face' could very well be contradicted by someone who believes that same style is a great way of reminding them that this organisation generously pumps $1 million plus a year into a much loved sporting club.
